Type 2 diabetic with major gut problems and my GP won't even see me

I was doing okay for a week or so, until I went back into work today. Then my routine all fell apart as I wasn't able to cook myself any breakfast this morning as the power was off in the street. I ended up going to a Wright Pies van that comes to our office every morning and have some bacon and...

Type 2 diabetic with major gut problems and my GP won't even see me

My GP is useless. They said to me on Tuesday that there was no point with keeping the appointment as I was already seen by A&E. Thanks for this, my pain is around 6 or 7 now. I had a omelette with bacon and cheese, now since I've ate the pain has returned to my left side and has been 6:30pm...

Type 2 diabetic with major gut problems and my GP won't even see me

It could be, but why has it only been affecting me these past few months. I only started cutting it down in October to see if the pain and diarrhoea would go down, but no success yet. A friend of mine at work who is Type 1 Diabetic, thinks it could be that I have a gluten intolerance.

Type 2 diabetic with major gut problems and my GP won't even see me

Possibly, but I've reduced my intake down by a lot and make a 1.25 litre bottle last me 3 days.

Type 2 diabetic with major gut problems and my GP won't even see me

I still don't feel okay. Spoke to a hospital doctor yesterday over the phone who is sending a few blood forms to test for coeliac disease. If I eat anything too much now, after an hour or so I feel more and more pain in my left side of my tummy, followed by diarrhoea. Even with having cocodamol...

Type 2 diabetic with major gut problems and my GP won't even see me

Well I phoned my DN and left a message as my blood sugar this morning was all over the place. From the same finger prick site I had three different results; 24.1, 22.0 and 19.5. I've just had some eggs, bacon and avocado for breakfast. Now the pain in my abdomen has come back as a dull ache.

Type 2 diabetic with major gut problems and my GP won't even see me

I can't contact the consultant as I don't know who I am with or even have a phone number to contact on. I will leave a message for my DN at 9am, then see what they say.

Type 2 diabetic with major gut problems and my GP won't even see me

My diet has changed slightly as since April 2022 I've been reducing my carb intake each month. I started off slowly by reducing my carb intake from 250g in April then 200g in July and then to 150g last month. I've been including more protein and fat into my diet, whilst still having some carbs...

Type 2 diabetic with major gut problems and my GP won't even see me

Hello, it's been a while since I was last on here. I've been experiencing over the past few months problems with diarrhoea and abdominal pain in the left side of my tummy after I've eaten a meal. I've been in A&E four times now with the problem as the pain has been so excruciating some times...

I'm determined to get my diabetes back on track

I'm under the care from a endocrinologist at the hospital. Also, I had my appointment with the dietitian and she has advised me to consider that I should be focusing more on my calorie intake, rather than just my carb intake. She pointed out that choosing low carb is no good for me in the long...

I'm determined to get my diabetes back on track

It's all of them, since I've been on insulin for the past 6 or 7 years now. All I've been on is a fixed dosage of insulin and nothing else. I've only ever been on Novorapid and Tresiba, I got put on Victoza 3 years ago though. Now they're thinking of scrapping the Victoza for a once weekly...

I'm determined to get my diabetes back on track

I'm feeling a bit better, but I've now had a dodgy stomach since Sunday. This is the problem that I have, I've always been on a fixed dosage of insulin, the doctors and my diabetes team are reluctant to try anything else. Plus, trying to get in touch with a diabetes nurse is hard enough as I...

I'm determined to get my diabetes back on track

Hey guys, I've been away for a few days and it's down to the fact that I got admitted into the hospital early Saturday morning. My blood sugar on Friday at 6pm was at 12.4 and I felt good. Then I had some minted lamb chops, cauliflower and broccoli (gave the roast potatoesto my dog). Tested...

I'm determined to get my diabetes back on track

Well I did get sent home from work just now because of my high blood sugar. I was on the phone to the diabetes nurse as well and she suggested that I increase all of my Novorapid injections to 40 units and my Tresiba injection to 88 units. I asked about carb counting and I've been put on a...

I'm determined to get my diabetes back on track

From a dietary point of view and I don't always eat with them, only for when my mum is off work or is working an early. If I decide to cook for a night. I have to take into consideration what my parents want to have.

I'm determined to get my diabetes back on track

Coronavirus (COVID‑19 It does feel good. I've got set breaks and if I need to, I can take some time to test my blood sugars and take my medication. I can't till Monday. I find it easier to have several small meals. But when it comes to family meals, it's just hard to plan out.

I'm determined to get my diabetes back on track

I didn't do a lateral flow test at that time, but I did do one before I went work as they always ask for a lateral flow test to be done everytime anyone comes in the office.

I'm determined to get my diabetes back on track

Well I woke up at 2am dripping in sweat. Turned out that my BG was down to 4.5, so I got up and had a can of coke to bring them up. Went back bed at 3am when my BG was at 6.4. When I got to the gym at 7am my BG was at 25.3. I haven't tested since as I'm down to 4 testing strips.

I'm determined to get my diabetes back on track

I know that I am in a rut. I've had to keep my counselling sessions private from my family. The only person in my family that seems to support me is my nan. She's even got a glucose monitor as she is pre diabetic and worries about me more than my own parents. I know it seems I am hitting the...
