    T2 Poor Control

Hi and welcome, I am type 2 but currently just on a basal insulin. Personally I wouldn’t be able to eat either cereal or that type of fruits without it raising my blood sugar. If you wish to keep doing that you could talk to your diabetic team about changing your fast acting insulin to carb...

    Fasting sugars

Which CGM are you using? If it’s a libre you can look on the app and see an estimated HbA1c. It’s not completely accurate for me, but it gives a guide to where you are. If it’s high you could use that to try and convince your practice to do a blood test. It maybe that you have to reduce your...

    Update Annual Review...

Fantastic. Well done. It’s a long slog but with the pressure you are under that’s a great result.

I took lantus insulin instead of nova rapid at morning instead of evening. What should I do?

Hi and welcome to the forum. Do you wear a CGM? I would keep a very close eye on your blood sugars during the day today and make sure you have plenty of hypo treatments available as last nights dose will still be working, so effectively you have twice as much insulin on board as usual. We...

    Libre Link

Xdrip+ only works with android phones and not iPhones. I have seen a number of people on here saying that they have been told by Abbott that librelink isn’t compatibility with the latest version of iOS. The issue seems to be with the phone loosing the Bluetooth connection. I’m on version...

    Confused

I definitely don’t want to rip it apart but…. Toast and banana for breakfast is likely to be raising your blood sugar. The rest sounds good. Try testing before and 2 hours after your normal breakfast, then the next day leave off the toast and banana and see if there is a difference. Likewise...

    Confused

Hi, Can you give us a better idea of what you eat on an average day? You mention cutting down on sugars, but does that include carbs (which turn into sugar in the body)?

Type 2 Gliclizide, hypos and preparation

If you are looking for something to stabilise your blood sugar and stop it dropping before you go into a hypo then something like a small portion of walnuts, or an individually wrapped cheese might work for you. Or I used to eat a nut bar which was low in carbs and easy to carry.

    Night shifts

Ah, I hadn’t thought of the almond flour. There are other low carb flours that might work. Coconut flour, or there are low carb flours from the low carb food company, or panda flour. It would need some experiments to work out ratios unless anyone here has experience.

Cheeses, hard boiled eggs, charcuterie meats, tomatoes, cucumber, can all be put in one of those multi compartment snack boxes. I make simple cheese crackers. I usually add herbs and sesame seeds to mine. They keep fairly well in an airtight container. https://thebigmansworld.com/keto-crackers/...

Do the nhs not do definite diagnosis any more?

When mine first started there were no clinics in my area so things have improved. I did lose some weight a couple of years ago and it made a difference.
