Thanks @ert - with the Libre the support is great e.g. if a sensor fails or the adhesive comes unstuck early then Abbot provide a replacement. Do Dexcom do anything similar?
Hi all,
I have just been approved for a pump and have asked to go with the Tandem tslim x2 as I have heard great things about it when used with Dexcom sensors.
I would love to be able to start looping and don’t have the confidence to “hack” my libre to make it work as a CGM.
I asked about...
I’ve just come out of my pre-consultant appointment bloods, weight, BP etc check (clinic must be running with covid protocols still).
My blood pressure was on the high side (143/87), previously when checked I had been in the pre-high bp category, so it is obviously creeping up.
I think I’m...
Hi all,
posting a link to my post in the pregnancy forum as it would maybe be better managed here.

Since posting, I have contacted my DSN who has messaged the eye consultant to check whether I need to be OCT screened/seen at the eye...
Hi all,
my husband and I are hoping to start TTC in the near future. I’ve been attending my local pre-pregnancy clinic and had brought my sugars into target. Then came covid…
My hba1c is a little higher than they would like (55) but has been pretty stable recently.
I’ve just gone for an eye...
Hi everyone,
Just checking if anyone else has had similarly bad experiences with the Libre 2 sensors…
Overall, I’ve definitely found that the adhesive is not as strong compared with the original libre. Maybe it’s the lack of alcohol swab- did it maybe create a better adhesive surface? With...
I spoke to my doctor this morning. We agreed that the effects of taking the vaccine before I can reassure myself would probably increase my anxiety.
I have cancelled my appointment this afternoon. I found it really emotional. I have been so excited to get this vaccine but my health anxiety is...
I am still so undecided about all of this. I had a poor night of sleep trying to decide what to do.
After chatting with a GP friend, I now know that a GP can’t refer me to a Pfizer centre. Where I live Pfizer is being given out to different vulnerable groups. I might ask my GP if I can...
Plus the vaccines are obviously being rolled out amongst populations of people with underlying conditions (who may be predisposed to these illnesses)?
I might buy a pack of aspirin just in case!
It is an unknown, and it’s just a bit scary! I just wish this was being plastered all over the news...
Hi everyone,
Hoping not to be a scaremonger - but reaching out to the community in case anyone knows more than the papers are stating...
I am due to get my vaccine on Tuesday (my gp has been quite slow on their roll out). I have been seeing reports of many countries pausing their use of the AZ...
Hi all, this is probably not that helpful now that you have found cover ....
For anyone else looking who finds this thread, it is worth checking whether your employer offers life insurance as a company benefit. Mine does and I wasn’t aware of it until a colleague applying for a mortgage...
Keep on trying to get on to one! I think I was on the waiting list for 5 years.
It’s quite a lot of maths and also trial and error, but once you understand the principles it really demystifies things. I do think that the group interaction in the DAFNE program helps. It’s nice to meet people...
Hi Ley666
You’re right that it’s not my sugars. I use a libre so I can tell that I’m not having hypos that are going undetected.
I’m on fiasp, levemir and metformin (insulin resistance). I’ve done a bit of reading that shows that metformin can cause sweats but it sounds more like they are...
Thanks both!
@hankjam it really is miserable! I’d love to be able to look forward to sleep, but haven’t managed it for a long time!!
I might call my GP when things have calmed a bit with covid and see whether they’ll do anymore investigations. The main concern when they tested previously was...
Hi all,
For the past few years, I have suffered really badly with drenching night sweats. However in the past year, it has really gotten much worse.
I don’t really know if it is linked to diabetes (other than when it is hypo-related). It really affects my quality of sleep and I’d love to know...
A dosage error could make a lost more sense than there being an issue with the insulin itself. I too have pens that are bad from day one, sometimes multiple in a box!
Definitely going to switch!
I would also recommend that anyone who is interested swaps to the novopen 5. The time since last...
