    Type 2 Low carb diet

@meJulie, I thought I was the only one who felt like that! Everyone on hear seems to find it so easy to low carb. I really struggle with the willpower and perseverance. Two weeks is a long time. Two days would be easier [emoji6] I'm interested to see what ideas people out there have to overcome...

    Has anyone given up chocolate?

I am trying sooooo hard to give up chocolate, or at least cut back. It's not helping that the vending machine at work is faulty..... When you choose C4 you automatically get whatever is in C5 as well! Today it was bounty and galaxy caramel, yummy! I could hardly concentrate on work but managed...

    A quick one...about BS test

The liver dump! There's loads of threads on here about it. But basically your liver can dump glucose first thing in the morning. Most of us have higher readings first thing because of this. And you have no control over it! Sent from my D2403 using Diabetes.co.uk Forum mobile app

    Back from the Dr's....

@MissMac, you can be assured that you won't be on your own in this forum. It's only natural to have good days and bad days and eventually the good will out weigh the bad. Some have compared being diagnosed as grieving for a former life and it does take time to get used to it. Plus life still...

    Back from the Dr's....

Hi @MissMac, what an improvement to the sad weepy woman who joined the forum a few days ago! You're doing brilliantly! You're facing up to the challenge with a very positive attitude. Good on you! Keep it up and keep inspiring the rest of us. I'm so glad your appointment with Dr went well. If...

Is the 2 hour reading conclusive?

I didn't test before eating. To be honest I don't test very often now and my head is in the sand alot of the time. I did have some chocolate and some biscuits before my meal so I expected the 2 hour reading to be high but I didn't think it would go higher. Think I might need to re educate myself...

    Paleo and Type 2?

@MissMac, I just wanted to let you know that I've been following your threads over the weekend and have really found them inspirational. You started off so down and emotional and within 2 days you've turned around, you're positive and you've even got humour in your posts now. I was diagnosed 5...

Is the 2 hour reading conclusive?

Just looking for some advice/opinions. I believed that the reading 2 hours after eating is more or less the highest it will go and then it starts to fall again. However, tonight I tested about 8pm ( 2 hours after meal) and it was 9.6. A friend had told me that sauna/steam room can help reduce...

    Type 2 Forxiga (dapagliflozin)

I'm still taking canagliflozin. I take it every second day as suggested by another member on here. At the first sign of thrush I stop taking it for a few days and then go back to every second day. Seems to be working ok for me by doing it this way, although the weight loss side effect has...

    Type 2 Forxiga (dapagliflozin)

Thanks @ickihun. I'll try that. Did it work for you? It would be a wonder pill if only it wasn't for the thrush! Sent from my D2403 using Diabetes.co.uk Forum mobile app

    Type 2 Forxiga (dapagliflozin)

I was wondering if I could take it one week off and one week on. Anyone any thoughts on this? Sent from my D2403 using Diabetes.co.uk Forum mobile app

    Type 2 Forxiga (dapagliflozin)

Like you I've been diabetic for a while and my Hba1c is slowly increasing. I know I've become complacent but find it's not as easy to get it back under control as it used to be and, like you, I'm worried about the next step. This tablet reduced my sugar levels pretty quickly though and I was...

    Type 2 Forxiga (dapagliflozin)

I'm on a similar drug, canagliflozin. My only side effect is the thrush. I've been on the medication just over a month now and feels like I'm at the doctor every other week to treat the thrush. I've had the pessaries, the cream, the one dose tablet and a fortnight ago I was given a lower dose...

    Support gratefully received

Sorry to hear that but I am a bit confused. Maybe I'm naive or just stupid but I don't understand why it was removed. It wasn't offensive in any way. I replied but I didn't get a PM to say it was being removed. I thought one of the benefits of this forum is getting help and support from other...

    Ads

I mentioned the appearance of ads after I did an update but never got a reply so assumed no one else had same problem. Giverny was tagged in but I didn't get any feedback Sent from my D2403 using Diabetes.co.uk Forum mobile app

If You're in Scotland this is worth a look

Yep, I've been on it for a few years now and it's really good. Gives graphs of all your results against what they should be. It's good for seeing how you've improved, or otherwise, over the years. Plus most of the time the receptionists won't give blood results over the phone but this lets you...

    Diabetes app update

@Giverny I did an update on my app last night and now there are adverts popping up all the time at the end of every thread and also between threads on the menu. Very annoying! The text is paler in colour and I seem to be clicking on them by mistake. Anyone else getting this? Sent from my D2403...
