    Varying exercise

Sounds like you're doing a great job @moonchip. That's a decent bit of walking you're doing! Raising your heart rate up a bit more does seem to give even more health benefits so if you feel you're fit enough the occasional bit of anaerobic exercise will be a good thing. You can expect to see a...

T2's - Taking on carbs after exercise?

Hi @stuffedolive I could be wrong, but I seem to recall Peter Attia saying that if you if you calculate how much carb you have burnt through after a period of exercise, and then consume that within 30 mins of finishing, you don't get knocked out of ketosis. Also, just as a point of interest...

Basal reduction for exercise - what am I doing wrong?

Hmmm, Have you done that session before and then run the day after and noticed anything similar? I know you are well read on the ins and outs of how the body works, so I would be interested to hear what you think to my theory: During a bout of intensive training, you will mobilise GLUT4...

Basal reduction for exercise - what am I doing wrong?

Hi @ElyDave, Just a quick thought - did you do anything particularly strenuous the day before that would heighten your glucose sensitivity? Bx

Why I think all diabetics should have a CGM

I'm absolutely in favour of that @gateian Personally I think CGM should be made available free or at least subsidised for anyone with T1, T2 using insulin or gestational diabetes. I also I think it should be utilised at part of an education program for anyone diagnosed with pre-diabetes or T2...

Fed up with constant high morning levels!

Sorry, I'm just going to repeat a very sensible point that @Bluetit1802 made, and that is in reference to Gliclazide. Are you still taking it? If you're low carbing then there is relatively little work for your pancreas to do with regard to producing insulin particularly if you do any exercise...

Fed up with constant high morning levels!

Yes, it shouldn't really make sense. I wondered if it had something to do with the citric acid in them (which I think has a similar effect to acetic acid - you probably already know about the beneficial effects of vinegar) I can't imaging the amount in a cheese straw is high enough to be...

Fed up with constant high morning levels!

I'll just chuck in my thoughts here if that's okay, Exercise will definitely help lower morning BG spikes - probably even more so if you exercise at the end of the day. As I understand it, Metformin in the body literally takes on the role of the hormone within the liver that triggers it to...
