    Step into Spring

Yay! Sledging!!! (Sorry - I can't help myself, it's an automatic reaction whenever I see snow!)

    Step into Spring

:(Feel better soon. Any activity is a bonus - put some loud rocking music on and jiggle yourself silly for a track. (Closing the curtains from prying neighbours is optional) I got myself out for a run the last couple of days. Weather was a bit off-putting, but looking on the bright side I won't...

Any way to stop spikes with strenuous exercise?

Hi @LucySW It sounds as though you at least know what to expect - you already know anaerobic/high intensity cardio exercise will cause a spike, but if you are only around the 8+ level, it seems to be you're doing pretty well - especially when you've not long finished breakfast! I am surprised...

    Outrage! DAFNE after 1 year

It's easy it is to find flaws in the current level of 'education' around diabetes, however I am sure that just as when Bernstein published his findings, it was done with the best intentions and put together with what was considered to be the best information available at the time. The trouble is...

Any way to stop spikes with strenuous exercise?

Nice one @cyclist Hey, can you come along to the #gbdoc diabetes conference in March? http://www.gbdoc.co.uk/gbdoc/Conference_2015.html TeamBG will have a stand there and I know that one of the T2 guys who came on last year's epic cycle ride from Barcelona to Vienna is coming along. The Team...

Any way to stop spikes with strenuous exercise?

Hi @Jemzor Unfortunately because the pre-training snack is anecdotal rather than science based (at least not yet), it's really going to be something that you have to try and check out yourself - experiment to see what works for you. You'll be gaining excellent health benefits from your...

Any way to stop spikes with strenuous exercise?

Hi @phil1966 Apologies I haven't commented sooner - I lost your thread! I thought I may be able to offer some information which may help with regards to managing your high BGs after your football matches. Firstly, though your body may now be keto-adapted (so your body has become used to using...

    Step into Spring

@cold ethyl, you inspired me into doing more than run. I managed 20 crunches and 10 full sit-ups (though I was mostly floundering like a beached whale):D Hey we've all got to start somewhere right?!

    Friends

Hi there @ainee28, Hope you're getting on okay. I thought I would tell you about an event coming up where you could meet loads of people with diabetes (unfortunately most of them will be grown-ups, but I know there are some children of your age coming along too) It's a diabetes 'conference' -...

    Step into Spring

Hoppy jogs going well, in between the odd limpy walk. I think I need to follow @cold ethyl' s example though with some sit-ups. Must get my waist line in shape.

    Step into Spring

Hey @Jamrox, you could always strip off - the extra energy your body will need to keep warm will have you burning through that extra tum in no time!:D

    Step into Spring

LOL! I did that on Friday! - spent most of the day in PJs feeling just awful. I can't remember the last time I did that - it's feels kind of indulgent even when you are sick. Felt better for it though.;)

    Step into Spring

Lol!, nobody could accuse you of not being motivated @Pipp! I think you've got more get up and go than all of us put together! I was pleased today I managed another run - this time I managed about a mile. (I say a run, really more of a shuffle combined with the odd hoppety walk!) :p
