    First Low Blood Sugar

What sugar pills were these? and what was the carb content, and when you say only 15.1, I see that as very high.

There is no such thing as a scientific 'proof'

All that's true, but we still have to analyse and make decisions in the present based on the most probable cause/effect. We can't simply say nothing is a fact and therefore not act upon it. If an opposing argument has more substance to it, we have to analyse and make a decision upon it.

    Smartchwatch as standalone reader

As long as they have Bluetooth, which I think they all do and have android wear OS 2, you can use them with miaomiao as a CGM. I don't think you can use any of them as an NFC reader for the libre standalone (without miaomiao) similar to the phone though.

New app to make smooth bolus corrections

Ok still seems strange, as injecting in the leg will have a completely different insulin profile to the abdomen. If that is calculating what the adjustment should be, surely it should ask for carbs eaten or place injected amongst many other things. After 1 hour mark, you may have used 50% of...

New app to make smooth bolus corrections

Surely you must put in how many carbs you ate and at that point you can calculate it yourself and monitor? Estimating the carbs is usually the hardest part. If not how does it know what the right amount is meant to be?

Post breakfast highs told to increase insulin causing hypo

Do you have the same breakfast every morning and the same amount? Novo rapid should be used with carb counting, the more you eat, the more you need. When you dose it depends on how quickly it raises your glucose levels. If you were running at 8/9 and are now taking 1 more unit of insulin, it...

Just get some water, with a lemon on top and pretend its vodka :)

There is no such thing as a scientific 'proof'

What is your suggestion, on what is beneficial and what is not? And how we distinguish between them?

    Lantus to Tresiba

Its rare, but it does happen as it has with me and others on here (was probably the scariest moment of my diabetic journey). If Lantus hits a blood vessel, it can act as fast acting and cause sever hypoglyceamia. For example if you take 15 units, all this can act as fast acting, causing severe...

    Lantus to Tresiba

I've not switched, but am looking to soon. The way I see it: Tresiba is more stable than Lantus, so get steadier levels for the day. It lasts longer, so is more effective on 1 injection a day than Lantus. However as it lasts longer, it takes more days for changes to stabalise, so if exercise...

    Morning reading are too high

There's many reasons for this, but it happened to me last night and I was kind of expecting it. It was because the sun was out, I decided we would have a barbeque, and with that came a lot of chicken, consequently I got a raise from the protein overnight and it was high upon waking. Many people...

There is no such thing as a scientific 'proof'

I agree with your principle not so much the content, but discussions like this happen for exactly that reason. People say something, which isn't true or backed up by the most probable cause/effect. Then other people base their decisions on this, and that is dangerous path to follow. We have to...

There is no such thing as a scientific 'proof'

I agree, as eating 100 calories of salmon is not the same as 100 calories of chocolate. It is processed differently by our bodies.

There is no such thing as a scientific 'proof'

I agree with some points, yes science in itself is not proof, but its theories or hypothesis backed up by some form of evidence, which outweighs the contrary. This stands until there is sufficient evidence to say otherwise. In regards to some of the evidences: Water does dissolve in water...

    Diabetes Complication

As above, that varies. Just as some people can eat whatever they want and not get type 2 diabetes, some people eat well and still get it. Its best to manage diabetes as best you can to minimize complications, rather than worrying about how quickly you will get them by bad control.

Can you not call your DSN, or clinic and ask? They should be able to help.

Poor rating for Freestyle Libre sensors

As above. Firstly its easy enough to say it should be flexible, but imagine the engineering that requires, then how much that would cost to produce and market, I'm sure they thought of such ideas. They brought a device to the market that would do a specific job, at a specific price. I'd want a...

new diagnosed, sad but thanks goodness for this place

There definitely is light at the end of the tunnel. I assume your type 2, although I'm type 1, and I would get rid of diabetes the first chance I got. I wouldn't go back on how much it has changed me as a person, I am the fittest, healthiest and mentally sound I have ever been. Would I have been...

Teenage son won't do his insulin

There's no point him going on single injection per day, as that will not adequately control type 1 diabetes and if it did, everyone would be on it. He needs to learn what good control is and how to achieve it with the correct medicine. I get your point but that would be providing a false sense...

    Humid weather affecting me?

It could be due to dehydration, people don't often realize how much water you lose and don't replenish in hot weather.
