Morning reading are too high

I’m having quite high morning readings when waking (12 this morning) As most people are finding, I’m not sleeping very well in this heat - could this be pushing my sugar up? My sugar reading before sleep was 8 so quite a jump. I injected 40 units of Lantus so I had plenty of insulin on board.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I have been checking in the night due to this and injecting bolus to compensate about 2am. Still high now, although I’ve already had 8 units this morning instead of my usual 3. I’m sure the weather will cool over the weekend and normal levels will resume. If there is such a thing!!

There's many reasons for this, but it happened to me last night and I was kind of expecting it. It was because the sun was out, I decided we would have a barbeque, and with that came a lot of chicken, consequently I got a raise from the protein overnight and it was high upon waking. Many people change the way or time they eat during the heat which has a massive effect on overnight levels.

But some other points could be such as dehydration, insulin going off etc.
