    Striving to defy the odds

Yer I will do! It's going to be a tough one. They're ranked higher than we are but I've got faith in the boys to pull off the upset! Will make sure I post the score later [emoji106] No weight on the foot at all for the moment! A tough 4-6 weeks but I'll be back!

    Striving to defy the odds

My second cap for the Wales national futsal team in the first home nations tournament was bitter sweet. We won the game 7-1 and I played a lot of minutes but it ended with a broken bone in my foot. On one hand I'm extremely proud again to play for the country but absolutely gutted to be out...

    The Hyper effect

Hi @Colquig.... what levels are you coming in at directly before and after? From my experience if I'm high i will take a very small dose of short acting insulin. (I'm novo rapid) directly before playing. I've learnt from doing it a few times roughly how much to take to reduce my levels...

    Striving to defy the odds

Thanks @noblehead ! I never saw him play but I knew all about him. He was a man that inspired me to believe...... Sir Steve Redgrave and Gary Mabutt were the guys who drove me to believe that it wasn't a barrier, merely a small obstacle!

    Striving to defy the odds

@Snapsy amazing! Put a smile on my face today. I've faced injuries and set backs with illness in just the same way you're dealing with right now..... keep up the training. Don't push too hard too soon. You will get there! Most of all enjoy it! Set those goals again and make them happen...

    Striving to defy the odds

@Snapsy so glad you found it inspiring I could talk for days about the journey and the difficulties I've faced! As I'm sure so many others could! Nothing's impossible. Keep up with the exercise! In my opinion it's one of the best things to support bg control alongside your medication.

    Striving to defy the odds

Thanks. No doubt the improvements in the insulin regimes have helped ! 1 injection a day sounds tough! Controlling that with sport must've been tough! I hope I do ! For Wales and type 1 diabetics all over! I was near mold with the squad last week ! (We get together in queens ferry)

    Striving to defy the odds

Hi everyone I am new to the forum but just wanted to share my experience briefly with sport and diabetes. I've had diabetes for 17 years and have always wanted to prove that diabetes isn't a barrier to what I could achieve. (As I'm sure we all do!) I've played football for as long as I can...
