    Cell Novo pump

Hi, I've also been looking at the Cellnovo pump as the Bluetooth app appears to be better than the Insight but I'm also a little uncertain if I'm comfortable with a pump and no cannula. I've decided to go with the Accucheck Insight as I will have allot more freedom by being able to program the...

Feel like I've just been diagnosed 40 years in.

Thanks Shar67, results this afternoon which is where I normally crash have been truly amazing, my figures appear to be spot on. Will keep this updated in a week to see how this works out. Really thankful to have this resolved and so wish I had this insight earlier.

Feel like I've just been diagnosed 40 years in.

Had enough of poor control and struggling with my cycle commute to work (30km) each way, so taken matters into my own hands and learnt more on diabetes control this weekend than I have ever been advised by doctors or hospital. Now calculated what my calculated 'Total Daily Dosage' should be...

    Meters

I've had a few meters during 40 years of diabetes and recently got an Agamatrix Wireless Bluetooth JAZZ meter. This must be the smallest meter on the market with a great iPhone App that records Glucose, Insulin, Carbs & Weight. The Agamatrix printable reports are a little weak but the App data...

    Carbs For Cycling

Thank you for these responses, I have a bit to learn as I have tried a couple of different routes to work now and see that the one route with a mile long 11% constant climb is causing the issues, as I know if my heart rate goes above 145bpm I'm burning carbs and not fat. The top of this climb is...

    Hoping To Get A Pump

I think my lifestyle and thought processes are alike, I've been viewing endless YouTube videos and there are allot on the Medtronic 640g, but I see this as a large pump, that as I said earlier has some great features that will just tease me as I'm unable to justify the £3000 plus expenditure per...

    Hoping To Get A Pump

Thanks Chas C, great write up and response. The Bluetooth handset for me maybe crucial as I'm a keen cyclist that likes doing Audax events of 200km to 600km distances. I really like the idea of not having to rummage around on these day events to adjust the pump if it could be controlled remotely...

    Cellnovo Artificial Pancreas

I going to be a first time pump user after living with type 1 for nearly 40 years, has anyone have any experience with the CellNovo pump patches? Currently I'm looking at getting an Accucheck insight pump, but saw this Cellnovo system and wasn't sure if the NHS support this type of CGM technology?

    Hoping To Get A Pump

I had a follow up appointment last Wednesday and interviewed by 3 consultants who have agreed to put me on a pump, again thankfully I was prepared with all my glucose results via my Wavesense Wireless BG meter and and the Agamatrix App. I have a choice of the Animas Vibe, Accucheck Combo...

    Carbs For Cycling

I commute 30km each way on my bike in hilly Wales with 250meters of elevation. Best snack I have is home made flap jacks as these have all the correct carbs with oats (long acting), honey(medium acting) & sugar(fast acting).

Does Anyone Recommend The Flu Jab

Absolutely, I lost my sister due to Flu. Don't chance it. I have mine done every year.

Help With Cycling & Long Acting Insulin

Thanks Noblehead for your reply, I'm going to trial the Basal Rate Fast and see if I can ensure that at least the Boluse level is correct, once this is defined I hope that at least I will have a better basis to get a much clearer understanding on what is going on.

Help With Cycling & Long Acting Insulin

I'm driving in tomorrow due to rain and off on Thursday so can start the Basal Rate tests during these 2 days, hopefully if the weather is fine on Friday then I'll cycle in and will try no breakfast as this does seem to ****** proceedings up. Now I'm back to the 5 range I feel allot better. and...

Help With Cycling & Long Acting Insulin

So glad I joined this forum now, this is the first time in years that I've been able to get any sense on what's been going on. I will start the basal rate test tomorrow (12hours after exercise) as the long acting is definitely having a strong affect on the proceedings on the days I'm cycling...

Help With Cycling & Long Acting Insulin

Wow, thank you Tim2000s for the time you have put into the considered and fantastic response. I've not tried the ride without breakfast and will give this a go tomorrow. I was always led to believe that I need insulin in my system to allow the storage of the glucose on your muscles, should I...

Help With Cycling & Long Acting Insulin

I'm currently trying my hardest to control my diabetes allot better but finding this really hard with Pen medication and also with my cycle commute to and from work. Yesterday I commuted 60.9km overall (30.4 each way) and last night I had my evening meal and my BG maintained from 20:00hrs to...

Help With Cycling & Long Acting Insulin

This is why I need a pump, today has been a nightmare but also lessons learnt. I'm on pen not pump and last Friday I reduced my long acting insulin to 14 units before cycling to work, but found my sugars creeped up during the day. Last night I took 16 units of long acting insulin but my sugars...

Type 1s: What Is/was Your Blood Sugar This Evening And This Morning ?

Mine was 5.6mmol/l last night and 11.6mmol/l this morning, due to reduced Lantus Glargine (long acting insulin) in prep for my cycle ride to work.
