    Dawn phenomenon

I have a couple of queries about this. My readings are nearly always normal except first thing in the morning. Some people have suggested a carb snack before bed but I have just been reading up on this and everything points to NOT having carbs before bed? Can anyone clarify this please? When I...

    What's going on??

Wow that's weird isn't it? You'll just have to keep on with the early morning feeds and hope for the best :-) Well done on the weight loss!

    What's going on??

Yes pollensa some clothes are slightly looser so that proves something is happening. My meals used to be pretty huge but now I'm not having very many carbs and am limiting my protein they are somewhat smaller...not like airline food though! I'm not snacking much either as I try to keep to 1-2...

    What's going on??

Thanks Derry. I have been very impatient but it got me nowhere so I have stopped being so hard on myself. My blood is good, I'm fasting now and again so feel I am on the right road. Hopefully it'll all fall into place soon :-)

    What's going on??

I've taken everyone's advice and have banished my scales from the bathroom, and it does make me feel better actually. Some clothes feel looser and some friends reckon my face looks slimmer so hopefully I'm on the right track at long last :-)

    Insulin query

Actually it was in relation to a post about not being able to lose weight, Alison, so that link was very helpful-thank you. I have been having a terrible time trying to lose weight but it's finally coming off slowly but surely. People have remarked that I look slimmer, especially around the face...

    Insulin query

Thanks :-) I can't really remember now, sorry.

    Insulin query

I just worry in case I'm doing something wrong because I'm doing this on my own, and this person seemed quite Diabetes-savvy!

    Insulin query

I was diagnosed with prediabetes almost 2 months ago and am following the keto diet plus fasting. My BG levels, because I rarely have anything I shouldn't, are 99.9% in the normal range so I'm quite chuffed. However on a Facebook forum someone said just because my BG is OK it doesn't mean my...

    Alcohol

Being gluten free I'd rather have potatoes anyway so I'm happy that it appears I am OK having them occasionally as a treat.

Where do I go from here?

I think it may quite some time before I'm like a greyhound Alexandra! I was a chubby kid too and have always battled with my weight, even when I was 8stone 5. If only I knew then what I know now :-( The so-called healthy low fat diet has a lot to answer for.

Where do I go from here?

No same scales :-( The ones I won't be going on again till I feel like a greyhound!!

    Alcohol

Yeah that's what I thought! I had about half a dozen chips...very nice too

    Alcohol

I haven't had much alcohol at all in the past 2 months, in fact I'm becoming a cheap date! Yesterday I went out for lunch and had two glasses of wine. I had told the waiter to give my fries to my husband but when our meals came, I thought I'd just try a few of them to see how it went as I've...

Where do I go from here?

No I haven't got a ketone meter Rab just a blood glucose one. Sometimes I feel like I must be doing something wrong somewhere but if I am I haven't a clue what it is!

    Deciding what to do next.

I'm struggling with this a bit myself Tiger but what I can say is Diabetes CAN be reversed if you are willing to put in the hard work. I will leave more experienced folks to tell you what you should be eating but in my humble opinion (I was only diagnosed with pre diabetes 2 months ago) I...

Where do I go from here?

I think you have to educate yourself really don't you? A lot of people just follow blindly what their GPs tell them. Thank God for the internet I say ;-)

Where do I go from here?

A typical day would be probably an omelette for breakfast with a pint of water, and for my evening meal some sort of protein and salad. It sounds a bit Spartan and boring but I eat really well! I don't normally have lunch but sometimes I may have a coffee with cream-not every day though.

Where do I go from here?

I know the NHS calculator isn't ideal but according to that I'm officially obese so I could definitely do with losing quite a bit :-(

Where do I go from here?

I could do with losing 2-3 stone. When I was first diagnosed, I read that if you lose 10% of your body weight you can reverse the situation and that's what I've been determined to do but have failed pretty badly! My BS readings are good though so that's one positive thing at least.
