How can I reduce my glucose levels please?

As others have said, bread and baked beans are generally no-no's. Personally I can tolerate one slice of wholemeal toast with peanut butter *if* I go for a brisk walk afterwards. Regarding soup, do read the label. Most have a recommended portion size of half a tin. I'm assuming you're having a...

Lost weight and my snoring stopped

It seems I'm not alone then :p. Congrats to all ex-snorers (for those in relationships, I'm sure your partners are thankful!!) and I wish you well in your continued fight against the Diabetes Monster.

Lost weight and my snoring stopped

I've been diagnosed with T2 for about 10 weeks and am on a low carb diet. I've lost about 28lb in weight. I always used to snore (I use a snore monitor app on my phone) but I don't snore at all now. Result!! :) Has anyone else experienced this?

I have been eating medicines for diabetes

Metformin won't do much on its own. It needs to be used in conjunction with a low carb diet and ideally increased exercise. Have you made any diet changes?

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

4.8 at 07:45. Seems to be my standard fasting level. I'll take it :)

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thank you. I think I've mostly got things under control. At least my personal testing and last HbA1c suggest so. I'm starting to gradually introduce carbs tentatively after being extremely carbophobic for a few weeks after my Dec '19 dx. No nasty shocks barring today though. At least I know now...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I've just started to document what I eat together with BG levels. It's been about a week now. Today was the first major spike I've recorded though. I thought/hoped the fat in the Spam would moderate things somewhat. I'll check out those low-carb breads when I'm next out shopping. I do so miss my...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I'm still comparatively new to all this, but I suppose the learning curve never truly levels off. There's always something new to discover. BTW my level's back to 4.9 some 5.5hrs after the first bite earlier. Curry for breakfast huh? Why not :D. I like the sound of your chilli lime marinaded...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thank you Brunneria. I'll try a single slice another day. I guess I just got a bit cocky

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Been fairly consistently in the 5s and 6s preprandial and 2hrs postprandial recently so I tried a test with two slices of Burgen bread with Spam. Bad move :banghead:. Went from 5.4 to 8.0 in 2hrs. Another item to cross off the potential foods list :bigtears:.

    Trouser Belts

:D I can't remember when I last had a 30" waist either, but I'm heading that way ATM. That's what prompted this thread as I recently bought some new pairs of jeans and a belt due to my decreasing waist size. No-one wants to see me with my trousers round my knees!! :wideyed:

    Trouser Belts

What's the deal with trouser belts? They're generally marked (at least here in the UK) with a 2" span (32"-34", 34"-36", etc.) yet the total hole span is far greater than 2". A 34"-36" belt would easily accommodate a 30" waist. Inquiring minds need to know the reasoning behind this :D.

4.5 this morning :). Where did that come from?

Type 2 Losing weight too fast?

I haven't really got a target and have never been particularly attentive to my weight. It just seems that the weight's falling off me too quickly.

Type 2 Losing weight too fast?

I have increased my protein intake, and recently been adding cream to coffee and desserts. I guess I need to step it up a bit. I do eat red meat from time to time, but maybe only twice a week.

Type 2 Losing weight too fast?

I feel like I'm where I want to be now. I never really had a target, but I don't want to fade away to nothing.

Type 2 Losing weight too fast?

Hi. I've been diagnosed with T2 for about two months now and my latest HbA1c and my own testing indicate that I have it under quite good control. I've opted for the low-carb/more exercise route and I have to say I feel loads better for it. I get nowhere near as fatigued as I used to. However...
