    Who's fasting today?

Working on a 36 hour fast today, and I'm about 14 hours in. Planning for some broth around dinner time (22 hour mark). The full-day fast is always hardest at dinner time. Fasting glucose was good today though at 5.4.

    P:E dieting

Alright, I've only just started paying attention to Ted Naiman and PE. My initial thoughts after watching a few interviews and lectures on YouTube, and skimming this thread, is it doesn't all quite hang together yet for me. I will do more review and see if it makes sense, but he seems to want...

    Who's fasting today?

Not feeling well today so decided to give it a pass today and just do 12/12.

    Feeling disappointed.

I agree with both points here. Tracking is the only way to know for sure, and while I have no doubt you've made big improvements in your diet, it can really help to quantify and understand exactly where you are at. And yeah, these are good results. You should feel proud of the gains you've...

    Who's fasting today?

Yesterday went 21/3. The 21 hour mark was around me making dinner for the fam. Even though I wasn't hungry before that, it's hard to prep food for others after 20 hours of fasting and not get a bit hungry. Today is going to be another day of 20/4. It's mid-morning here and I'm nearing the 18...

    Increasing Empagliflozin to 25mg

I was on 25mg for a while but they cut it back to 10mg after a few months of keto when my dietary control reigned in my A1C.

    Fatigue and high blood sugar

I'm going to say no. I never had any issues with fatigue specifically when my blood sugar was elevated, but I did have some sleep issues when my BG was high. So I can see how that could result in fatigue.

    Who's fasting today?

Yesterday went well. I opened my window a little late and closed it a little late too, so it was 21/4 if that makes sense. Hard workout went well. Or rather it went well metabolically...the running was a bit of a disaster (high winds, muddy trails, yada yada...). Energy was good, I'm at the...

Confusion over what can and can't eat, what is classed as high carbs and sugars

Canada, but close enough. A lot of products are common to both countries.

Confusion over what can and can't eat, what is classed as high carbs and sugars

FWIW, maybe it's different in the UK, but over here, bacon often has sugar added. I need to read labels and ingredients carefully. Turns out Costco bacon (which is also one of the cheaper options has near 0 carb, so I'm happy with that one.

    Breakfast carbs

I would consider it too high in carbs, but I'm following a keto way of eating, so my daily limit on carbs is 20g net. So it fails my quantitative test. I also consider grains to be verboten, so it fails my qualitative test as well. But as I say, I eat keto, and it very clearly doesn't fit in...

    Who's fasting today?

I did no fasting on the weekend as planned. Well... 12/12 if you count that. Today I go back to back to 20/4. It's 8:30 AM right now, and my window opens at 3 PM, so 6.5 hours to go. Today will be easy. Tomorrow might be a challenge. I have a hard running workout (intervals at the track)...

    Who's fasting today?

Who's fasting today? Me! I'm fasting. I'm going for another 36 hour fast (plus or minus a few hours). I run 5 days a week, so I'm trying out a 5/2 by not eating on non-running days. For now at least that's Wednesday and Friday. Good luck on your fasting journey today.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

It's not quite lunch time where I am in Canada. I had bacon, eggs and avocado for breakfast. Lunch will be fast food. We're grabbing burgers at "Five Guys" today. Mine will be a lettuce wrapped bacon and cheese double burger. It's about a 900 calories but the only carbs should be whatever...

Just been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and Fatty Liver - Feeling a bit overwhelmed

My own opinion and experience is keto is actually easier and more sustainable (again, for me) than "low carb" after an initial adaptation period. When you are low enough to be in ketosis consistently, your body uses fat as fuel more easily. A body burning fat will burn stored fat just as...

    Who's fasting today?

OMAD for over a year...wow! I'm wondering if/how often you break from this? I find it hard to eat a day's worth of calories in one meal. The closest I get to it is 20/4. When I do 20/4 I eat one "proper meal" and some snacking.

    Who's fasting today?

36 hour fast ended. 37 actually. I find it really easy to extend fasts that end in the morning, and. could have gone another 4, but... well just didn't want to. Broke my fast with this: 12 hour eating window today (well 11 it turns out). I always try to stop at 7 PM. Tomorrow will...

Low carb not working for Type 2?

As far as I know, I'm in remission range, but I'm not off all meds yet. Sadly, I am way past due for a checkup, but to be frank, I hate going to the blood collection lab under current covid procedures so I'm procrastinating (and have been for months). So...maybe? Maybe not? Not sure yet.

Got given a few options - any advice?

I would start by pointing out that this is a false dichotomy. They presented you with 2 options, but you can take charge of your health and go in a different direction if you aren't happy with the options you have. As for me, I think committing to a lifestyle solution is what I would prefer to...

    Who's fasting today?

Nice job everyone, and especially @zeeeee. 72 is quite a stretch. So far, so good for me. This used to be pretty easy but it's been a while. I'll be having some broth today for sure.
