I did start to take readings yesterday as I'd activated it on the reader. It did read a couple of points lower when compared to the finger strip readings but my BG was not of concern on either reading. So far so good!

Will the opsite tape cause 'compression lows". Hoping not!

I have applied under the arm as I found that easier to get to and held it up in front of mirror so I could see what I was doing. Also applied opsite tape to keep in place as I am very clumsy and if it can be knocked off I'm sure I will do it! Also going swimming and want the extra reassurance...

Yes it dawned on me that I should not have activated the new sensor if leaving for 24 hours. Never mind. I think the other apps you mention might be a step too far at the moment but will have a look and see if they might be of use.

I've just bought the starter pack to see what effect specific foods and exercise have so will be keeping a diary of sorts to monitor it over the next month. I'm not sure I can afford to use Libre every month. It's taken me a while to pluck up the courage to put the sensor on but it was much...

    Another Newbie

If you are slim or have lost weight recently then there are other possible types of diabetes rather than T2. Do come back here as more questions arise Hi Daibel Interested to know what other possible types it could be?

Will it make a difference if I take 15 minutes to eat a slice of white toast?

I find almonds satisfy the need for a crunchy snack - although managed to dislodge a crown the other day!

That’s interesting. How much nutmeg do you use?

    LCHF and Cholesterol

Thanks for the input @JohnEGreen and @Looseboy. My diet before being diagnosed was based on what I thought was healthy eating. Porridge for breakfast most days with a weekly poached egg on toast, occasional weetabix. Salad & tinned mackerel or hummus and somedays soup for lunch. Dinner would...

    LCHF and Cholesterol

I was diagnosed in April and have been following LCHF diet for approximately three months now and assessing my BG levels with a meter and so was hopeful of a lower HB1AC result. Just had my three month blood test and the good news is that my HB1AC reading has gone down to 41 from 51. However...

    Type 2 Pains

I get this at night only. Sometimes like mild pins and needles but other times severe burning. Nothing through the day. DN tested negative for neuropathy. No other thoughts from her as to cause. What other symptoms would I get if it's gout?

    Numbers Getting Better!

Well done Rachox. For the last month I've been averaging 60g carbs a day but my average BG is 6. I thought this was acceptable but maybe not then? I'm not sure what else I can do. Any suggestions?

Also have mild osteoarthritis and one hip complains if I do too much impact type activities. For example, I have a rebounder but find it causes hip pain.

Hmmm bulkbiker, never been comfortable going to gyms so going to work on exercise at home and see how it goes. Walking is more my thing.

Ah thanks for that. Also I'm T2 although in my arrogance when first diagnosed I presumed prediabetic until I had the full results through! Have tried change that status but doesn't appear to have worked.

    Weight

Can anyone advise me on my weight? I'm 5'6" and have always been thin but about a year ago I was 9st10lbs up from 8st4lbs a decade ago. I didn't like where the extra weight was accumulating around my 'apron' area and have gradually been losing weight. When I was diagnosed with T2 in March I...
