What irritates me is how to judge how much insulin to inject. BS 140, weight 140, how many i.U. (what the hell are international units?). The idea is o keep BS to around 6.5. Any solutions out there?

I would welcome a table of how many international units of insulin to inject given a body weight of e.g. 135 kgs and blood sugar of e.g. 160 mg/dl. No such table/s seem/s to exist so I limit my insulin to a max of 50 i.u. per injection. This may sometimes be too much or too little - I've no way...

I'm showing symptoms of inlfuenzan and my blood sugar (I'm zype 2) has shot up to 186 mg/dl. Is this to be expected, or should I up my international units of insulin? Edit by mod.

I have brown flecks on the lower legs and occasionally a feeling as if I've been stung there by a bee. Is this anything to do with diabetes - or just another of the joys of getting old? Or perhaps due to the heat?

I have an odd problem. When injecting I have trouble ensuring the angle is correct and have often either bent the needle or shot the dose onto the skin, where it does no good at all. I assume this has to do with my eyes having both been operated on and cataracts replaced with artificial lenses...
