    Wow currently expieriencing my first Hypo felt shakey tested blood, 2.9 have had my five jelly babies and a couple of mouthfulls of full fat coke, starting to settle a bit so check blood again in 5-10 mins. at least i know how it feels now so will no to act quicker next time.

    Have just spoken to my GP and i asked about the possibility of test strips on prescription, her reply was no as the NHS recomend you dont test as it will cause anxiety so wont prescribe them unless im on insulin or blood sugars are low which as i am type 2 is unlikely, my problem is if they want...

    I constantly struggle to get blood when i test and end up having to prick my finger several times to get sufficient amounts, always wash hands and leave them under a hot running tap then rub them together with little success any ideas?

    Still new to this, Yesterday i bought myself a blood glucose meter and today intended to start testing, have tried three times so far today and failed to get a reading every time! have the lancet set to max but still not getting very much blood any advice greatfully received.

    Probably a really stupid question but i'll ask it anyway, have just bought a meter to test my blood, does a fresh lancet need to be changed after every use as only have 10 at the moment and is going to work out expensive if i need to use three a day?
