    Digital retinal photography

My wife's sister is T1 and has been totally blind for about 13 years now. For the sake of a simple, painless photo, is blindness worth the risk. If there is a problem with the retina, the screening will detect it at an early stage and treatment can begin straight away. I go every year.

What was your first full time job, and first wages?

My first job was in 1966. Left school at 16 and was an engineering apprentice. £4.10s (£4.50p) per week. The firm put me through college and in-house training and now I am a very successful engineer. [emoji1]

    Mods and Rockers

I'm nearly 65 now and was a Mod. I had a Lambretta LI 150 with all of the usual trim. That was a great time to be a teenager. I live in Brighton but always stayed away from the bank holiday beach stuff. My now wife was a Mod too and been married for 44 years now.

    Diagnosed today :(

Apparently it's a legal requirement that you test before driving if you are on Gliclazide. My diabetic nurse quoted the NICE directives to the doctor and hey presto, a prescription. . Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Diagnosed today :(

Hi and welcome. I was diagnosed 7 years ago and have only just managed to get my test strips on prescription. I bought my own meter though. It seems that doctors are reluctant to have Type 2s test themselves because of the cost of the strips. My diabetic nurse told me that I need to test now...

    Diabetes advice question ...

Hi. I have been type 2 for over 7 years now and I don't feel that I was supported very well by my GP. Not really a criticism because GPs are not necessarily experts in every field. I have now been referred to the local diabetic clinic and now this is the first time that am starting to...

    Hi de hi

That's what the lady at the diabetic clinic told me. I have to phone the surgery in a few minutes to see if I have been granted the 'golden' strips. Watch this space. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Hi de hi

Hi. Diet is not bad. My wife looks after me and nags when I stray. My weakness is that I have a sweet tooth. I find it easier now that I am testing the blood glucose regularly because I see the result of what I eat so I am more aware. I am just going back to the gym also after a 3 month lay off...

    Hi de hi

Hi folks. I'm new to the forum but have been type 2 for about 7 years now. Live in Brighton, UK. Glucose was under control for about 4 years (6.0 ave.) but I seem to be struggling now. I have just started going to the local diabetic clinic on the support is great. They increased my Glicazide and...
