No bread, potatoes, rice. No sugary treats. As a treat I ate a Chinese meal every week and all other food was low carb. I have eased up a little but still maintained good levels.

hba1c 55 March 2014. No medication. No insulin. I am eating a kfc meal every week as well as a Chinese meal of noodles.

homocysteine, uric acid tests
Are you mixing up homocysteine and cysteine? Cysteine is an amino acid which is beneficial to the body and homocysteine is not beneficial.

It gave me kidney problems and anemia even though I took it with food and within the guideline dosage.

I think willpower is needed to control diabetes? When you are tempted by a carbohydrate meal then saying no means willpower has succeeded?
