Freestyle Libre Poll - Have you had a skin reaction ?

I have had a bit of itchy ness and redness but I tried applying a couple of puffs of my brown (Clenil modulite )inhaler to my arm and let it dry before applying sensor. Strangely it seems to help . I also take daily anti histamine cetirizine or Loratadine tablet.

    Problems with Diasend

Does anyone use diasend to download pump results to PC. I have windows 10 and can't seem to make it work! Something to do with the drivers I think. My cable is a few years old so maybe that is the problem?

    gym

I never reduce my basal before going to the gym and always try and go at least 2 hours after last meal/bolus. If below 7 mmols just before I would have 15g carb snack. I leave pump off while in the gym and check every half hour or so. If below 5.5 I have a mouthful or two of Lucozade...

FreeStyle Libre problems - skin reactions and inconsistent readings

I have been using it on and off since it was released in the uk. The readings are usually slightly lower than fingerprick results but I have found them to be consistent most of the time. It is such a useful device especially because I have the ability to check and see if my blood sugar is going...

If you were designing a pump, what features would it have?

Also how about a Flexible, soft patch pump that sticks on like a plaster. Also could be waterproof, refillable and disposable. It could incorporate the reservoir and the cannula in one unit.

If you were designing a pump, what features would it have?

My main problem with my pump (Animas Vibe) is the size. It gets in the way and for me smaller would be better. I think a smaller pump that you could refill with a syringe every couple of days. I only need about 30 units a day so I get fed up with having to wear a pump with 180 units or so. It...

Hello and using a pump on the airplane.

You don't need to do anything different at Airports. Just go through as usual and only explain what pump is if someone spots it. Usually I don't even set off the metal detector! I don't carry a letter, just my printed repeat prescription list from my GP. Obviously I wouldn't go through full...

    Off the proverbial rails...

I have the same problem. I was talking to clinic doctor about it only last week as I have had problems on holiday this year when my usual lowish carb diet went out the window!! Eating more carbs and eating later at night also didn't help. I tried to deal with it by using a split bolus...

    meter link with iphone

Thanks to all who replied. I will investigate the Dario . I seem to remember the contour link used to work with Medtronic? It would be lovely to have just one device that does it all for those of us who are not bothered about using CGM

    Taking pump on beach holiday

Hi I didn't keep my pump in a frio bag. Only my spare supplies. I did find it got a bit smelly when using so always have to buy a new one each year. Insulin in pump was fine for 2 weeks at 40 degrees.

    meter link with iphone

Is there a meter which can send my results wirelessly to my iphone? Or is there a way my pump ..Animas vibe, meter and my iphone could connect up? I do get fed up with typing things in to different devices. It would be so good if they could all link up. I am due a new pump next year so does...

    Taking pump on beach holiday

I don't sunbathe or swim with my pump on even though it is waterproof, but I don't like to lie in the sun for more than a couple of hours at a time. I disconnect my pump and just reconnect to give myself missing basals and food boluses as necessary. I find I am ok without pump on for a couple of...

    Toe nail

I would also like to recommend using Curanail. Your Gp can prescribe it as it is quite pricy. You must follow instructions exactly though and use it for about a year until nail has completely grown out. it worked for me and nails are now completely clear.

1 thing your Doctor/Nurse says that annoys you?

For the last two appointments she has given me a printed care plan which is for type 2 diabetics!! And when I point out that I am in fact type 1 and have been for 40 years she just says something like " I don't know why that has happened"!!! I also got told by the hospital consultant that my...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

I have also found it useful for spotting trends. My first reader didn't work so Abbot replaced it and the first two sensors. The next sensor was pretty accurate during daytime, often almost the same as fingerpricks or at least not far out. But it showed false lows at night. My last sensor was...

    Hypo Treatment

I usually stick with lucozade if below about 3.3. I am quite good at judging the number of mouthfuls I need and not having too much. The problem is that it quickly looses its fizz so I throw quite a lot away! I don't eat something with carbs in it after treating hypo with lucozade, because it's...

    Do you feel your Diabetes?

I feel a bit nauseous and funny taste in my mouth if over about 14. If really high I have been known to vomit. But can't remember the last time I was really high
