SJC i agree with jack here. I have been dealing with top renal consultants for the last 16 year and none of them would put you as stage 3 with one kidney. They might say you had a slight impairment and to keep an eye on you but that is all. Stop scaring yourself

You don't need to be on dialysis to see a renal dietician. You just need to attend a renal clinic regularly. So if you have a renal consultant ask at next visit.

I agree. I basically said the same. I know there are renal dieticians as I've attended them. The thing is a lot of renal patients are diabetic so they have an understanding of both. So definitely the way forward

I would ask to be referred the next time you see your consultant. As they have their own dieticians. As I said your renal function is not to bad so I'm sure they would be of help for you. My GFR is 22 so I do know what I'm talking about. Good luck with it all Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Snacks and Putting on Weight

SJC your GFR is not to bad. It just shows mild kidney impairment so don't focus to much on how it will effect your kidneys. Just makes sure your U&E's are checked regularly and eat some meat to help raise your weight. A little protein won't harm you Sent from the Diabetes Forum App
