Banting and best we salute you! On this in 1922 insulin was first used to treat type 1 diabetes.

I know a few people with type 2 and they are eligible for benefits.. However type 1's don't seem to be. Odd as I would of thought it should be the other way round

Congrats to bbc news this morning. They were doing a report on type 2 diabetes and gastric surgery - talking about the cost to the NHS. Usually I find that in those reports it is just called diabetes and they do not distinguish between the 2. However today they got it correct. Emma
