    No hypos overnight!

No, I always was told to inject after food as you never know if you're going to finish something, get distracted at work and not finish your sandwich etc. If walking doesn't help I'll look to try that out, might bring it up at my next Dr's app. Thanks for the advice :D

    No hypos overnight!

Okay, sounds like I'm on the right track. At the moment my bg is returning to normal well within four hours. I'll definitely try the walking after food too, exercise never hurt! :)

    Freestyle libre

I shave the patch on my arm and then let it completely dry, clean the area with the wipes in the box and then let it completely dry. After I insert the sensor hold I it down for about 30 seconds to make sure it's properly stuck. I have lost one sensor but when I contacted Freestyle Libre about...

5 things any newly diagnosed type 1 should know

I know what you mean about the forum support. I definitely do better when I talk about things but feeling like a "bad diabetic" I buried my head in the sand and am only just getting a real grip on things again. Besides the forum have you looked into any counselling/mental health services near...

    No hypos overnight!

Celebrating a small win! For the first time in a long time my blood sugar stayed perfectly level overnight, at least according to my libre! Woke up 7.5 which is still a touch high but far better than the 15 I had been getting. The best bit is I'm still staying in range for the most part during...

    Anxiety around work

Thanks, I'll definitely do that. HR is more or less nonexistent in our place so I'm not sure what I'll get back but being proactive seems the better solution than worrying!

    Anxiety around work

Thanks for the detailed reply! I'm happy to clean my space for the same reason as you but I can't clean the whole office and I'm not sure it's being done as frequently as it should be. Sorry if I didn't make it clear, those are the conditions I know I am returning to. Other people are already...

    Anxiety around work

Hi all, Sorry in advance for this bit of a rant. I'm one of the fortunate ones in that lockdown was good for me. My mental health improved and for the first time in a long time I feel like I'm actually taking control of my diabetes. However, and I'm sure many others feel the same, I am...

Anybody else had their prescription stopped randomly?

Thanks to all for the replies! It is incredibly frustrating, I'm going to see the Doctor and hopefully get some answers at 4pm today, so fingers crossed for a speedy resolution! Daibell if I could cut out the chemist link I really would. Unfortunately, with the hours I work there isn't a lot of...

Anybody else had their prescription stopped randomly?

Madbazoo I had no such warning unfortunately. From the way they were describing it on the phone it sounded like they had decided against doing something like this.

Anybody else had their prescription stopped randomly?

Fortunately I have enough meds to keep me going at the moment. It's just worrying that they can stop providing them and not tell you as a part of a policy!

Anybody else had their prescription stopped randomly?

Thanks for the reply! I can't believe they'll just stop meds randomly. I had no warning at all. when I asked the lady on reception why I hadn't been told about needing a review she said it is their policy not to tell us! We have to become our own detectives and figure it all out for ourselves...

Anybody else had their prescription stopped randomly?

After trying to get a prescription for two weeks unsuccessfully, I've been told that my prescription has been stopped as it was put on the "backscreen" untill I'd seen my Doctor for a medical review. (It's taken two weeks because I can only get to a chemist on Saturdays, first time they thought...

    Airport Security

Hi, hopefully in the next year or so I should be going to Japan. Specifically Tokyo. I was just wondering if anybody had been through the security there with a diabetes kit? I've only ever taken my needles through French security and they were fine with it.

    Any advice?

Thanks for the advice. I'm definitely avoiding pasta but that has always messed up my blood sugar. I'll have a look through the recipes, Thanks :)

    Any advice?

Having recently accepted that some pesky carbohydrates are sending my blood sugars through the roof. I'm considering reducing the amount of carbs i have on a daily basis. Nothing drastic just enough to prevent my blood sugars going off on one  I'm just wondering if there's any advice...

    I HAVE diabetes. I'm not a diabetic.

I generally tell people I'm a diabetic, I tend to use the "I have diabetes" line when somebody is being snappy and asking why I'm testing my blood sugar in public and therefore they can see a tiny bit of blood. oh the horror for them -_- (another rant for another day). The only time I would...

    Trying to get a pump

Wow a whole year. I'll wait for how ever long it takes, i've heard really good things about those who have gone to a pump from MDI and their quality of life just goes up. Im keeping a food/insulin/blood sugar diary from now on to see if i can spot patterns. It might help when i switch to a pump...
