    Covid vaccine

I am 65 with type 2 and had my jab last Thursday. Astra Zeneca at the McLaren hospitality suite in Woking town centre. Sadly no fancy sports cars to try out but a very efficient service for the jab. I had palpitations that night (but I'm prone to that anyway) and a headache and fever much of the...

    Yoghurt

I also buy Lancashire Farm full fat greek yogurt by the bucket (very useful pots for small amounts of paint or gardening) but why do Morrisons stock it in their Asian cold food section along with Paneer and other such products and not in the general yogurt section? I eat it with berries and...

    Background Retinopathy

I too have retinopathy one year then not the next year. I was told by the screening person who took the photos that this was quite common in his experience. As nothing is done when I do have it I asked what the point of screening was and he said it was to get a year on year comparison and that if...

    Eating Out

I've found you can often swap potatoes for another veg on a meal with cooked veg. Swap chips for coleslaw with a burger and don't have a bun. Sometimes 2 starters as a main meal works well.

    Evil Cheese?????

Halloumi cheese (which can be fried) wrapped in bacon and then fried or put in the oven is the answer to cheese and bacon. An alternative is to make your own quiche mixture using cooked bacon, cheese, full fat creme fraiche and eggs, bake in a silicone tray or silicone muffin mould without...

    Blood Sugar not coming down-

Yes it may be depressing but shameful it is certainly not. Read all over this forum, find out about diet and don't make too many drastic changes until you know if you are really Type 1 or 2 as treatment is different. With more information comes more understanding and then you will know what...

    Airline food

Looks like I will eat a main meal at the airport (its an 8.30pm flight) as I know I can find chicken salad type meal and will then ignore the food on offer and try to sleep and have some nuts to eat for breakfast later that night/ breakfast or whatever the meal counts as at the end of the flight.

    Airline food

I am travelling to Sri Lanka on holiday at the beginning of February, looking forward to lots of curries (no rice!) while I'm there but wondering if anyone has ever tried ordering zero or low carb food for a long haul flight? My experiences of airline food are that snack meals revolve around...
