Twitching And Fasciculations In Calf Muscles

Thanks very much for your suggestions! Your symptoms sound exactly like mine. My actual reading is 424 pmol/L. BTW, in Japan, the lowest level for B12 starts at 500 pmol/L - so they must know something, we do not. From what I understand, low readings affect everyone differently. Some people will...

Twitching And Fasciculations In Calf Muscles

Hi I have already had an EMG done and was told that I already have polyneuropathy, but it is at the start, so hopefully not to serious. My experience of doctors is that they only know how to dispense drugs and no little about side effects etc. I have rules out restless legs based on the EMG results.

    Metformin and Vitamin B12

Hi You might not know that you have any side effects until it is too late. I have some of them already and I am very concerned that I was not told, in particular as this info is on numerous web sites. Good thing is that you cannot overdose on b12 as it is water soluble, so a supplement is well...

Twitching And Fasciculations In Calf Muscles

My calf fasciculations and twitching started a few weeks ago. The first time I became aware of them was when I had a tingling on the upper right side of my right calf. I looked at my calves and saw the movements. As time went on I began to get twitching as well and that is where I am now. Right...

    Metformin and Vitamin B12

Hello everyone, I just wanted to let you know, because your doctor probably wont tell you that the use of Metformin PREVENTS the absorption of Vitamin B12. I was shocked to find this out, as my doctor never told me. I took Metformin for 2 years and now I have symptoms of B12 deficiency...

    Worried about my eyes

I found this post to be a very interesting to read. I got my sugar down to normal within 3 months from 11, through a combination of diet changes, exercise and 1 X 1000mg + 1 X 500mg Met per day. I have lost a lot of weight, feel great and my skin is also much better. My doctor was very impressed...

    Palpitations Anyone?

Hi, Wondering if anyone is having the same issue. I am taking Metformin 1000mg in the morning and 500mg at night. I started around 3 months ago and my blood sugar is coming down very well, mainly due to my food regime I believe. For breakfast I have oats, with some low GI fruit, pumpkin seeds...

Does Anyone Else Get Different Blood Sugar Results From Right & Left Hands?

Isn't interstitial fluid straw coloured? What I see looks like blood. Robbity a 2.0 difference is quite significant though isn't it? It can be the difference between good blood sugar and bad blood sugar readings, if you are on the margin.

Does Anyone Else Get Different Blood Sugar Results From Right & Left Hands?

Thanks everyone. I use the code free as well. They must be making a killing if everyone here uses them. They are the number 1 BS monitor on Amazon as well. There was roughly a two point (2.0) difference between both hands. That's one hell of a margin for error. It can be the difference between...

Does Anyone Else Get Different Blood Sugar Results From Right & Left Hands?

Something bizarre! I seem to be getting significantly different blood sugar results when I take blood from a finger on my right hand from when I take it from a finger on my left hand. The results on my left hand are always lower. Just a coincidence, or could this be that the blood from my left...

    Metformin And Milk

#uart if that was the case, no-one would be taking metformin!! Not only this, but I would have had diarrhoea for five weeks, as I have had the same breakfast every day for years now. Besides, I would never take the word of the DN on issues such as this. A good example of what not to believe is...

    Metformin And Milk

#uart, the whole point of taking metformin is to help the liver deal with the sugar content of carbohydrates, which is why people take it on the first place! So to write that metformin reacts badly with carbohydrates is simply not true. However there are some people who just cannot take...

    Metformin And Milk

Hi, I have been taking Metformin for four or five weeks now and have had no bad reactions. I take 1000mg with breakfast and 500mg with dinner. My BS is coming down very well and I had my first "within normal" reading today, two hours after breakfast. However this afternoon, I have had quite...

    Grapefruit Juice And Metformin

#CollieBoy, well that explains it then. Today, I have had no stomach ache and my BS is down to normal 2 hours after breakfast. Yesterday, after grapefruit juice and breakfast and metformin, my BS was 3.5 mmol higher then at same time today. Grapefruit juice does seem to be something of an...

    Grapefruit Juice And Metformin

Hi, thanks for your replies. I know about grapefruit juice and statins. Thankfully I don't have to take statins. Grapefruit juice is often touted as an alternative to metformin, which may be one of the reasons why they should not be taken together. I had breakfast an hour ago and so far feel...

    Grapefruit Juice And Metformin

Hi, Can anyone tell me if it's OK to drink grapefruit juice shortly after taking Metformin. I have been doing this occasionally and found that my blood sugar goes up to higher than normal 2 hours later when doing glucose test. This was the only reason I could think of as to why my blood sugar...
