    Intermittent fasting on nightshift

Trying intermittent fasting (16:8) today for the first time incorporated with keto. I work nightshift so I last ate at 2am and won’t eat til 6pm. It’s actually been not too bad. I’ll be interested to see though if it really does help to keep my sugars low. Felt a bit peckish around 430 (when I...

    Vision Issues

I sat at a pc for a guy who is also diabetic with sight issues but some of the things I need to use didn't work so I had to go back to my own desk. We cant report it either as I'm not meant to use that pc. Hopefully my eyes will be ok in a few days otherwise I'll get some of those cheap reading...

    Vision Issues

I'm really struggling with this at the moment. I wear glasses all the time but my glasses aren't working for me for reading etc or looking at my pc at work. I have to take my glasses off and go up close to the monitor. I've been doing the blood sugar diet so my blood sugars are as they should be...

Thanks for this! I'm currently doing a vlcd which I'll follow up a lchf lifestyle or 5:2. My eyes are awful at the moment but I have researched it. It's quite scary actually. I can barely see my phone sceen so I've had to enlarge the text!

Hooray. Hba1c dropped 3 points in 7 weeks.

So I went for an interim check up following me starting the Newcastle diet (using slim and save) and I'm delighted that my hba1c has reduced from 10(86) to 7.2 (55) in just 7 weeks so not even the full 120 days for a usual hba1c reading. It has been agreed I can now come off glyclazide and I'll...

Newcastle Diet - M R Shakes HELP PLEASE

Hi. I have been using slim and save since the middle of May and my bloods have been excellent. Around 4/5 every day. As mentioned, it's not really about the sugar content when on a very low calorie. Good luck.

Can I refuse to increase meds?

Just a little update. Since I began this version of the Newcastle diet 3 weeks ago, my blood sugars have been between 4.5 and 5.5 any time of the day. Fasting and after food. I feel great. I'm so looking forward to seeing the nurse and hopefully starting to get off my meds. I wish I'd done this...

Can I refuse to increase meds?

I'm delighted to say that since I started diet 10 days ago, my fbg has been 5ish (5.1, 5.2 etc). Lost some weight too. I'm so glad I've started this.
