    Libre (in)accuracy on HBA1C

Would you mind sharing which app you use? And do you show them the calibration? Have they made any comment on the libre performance or suggested a dexcom etc? Thanks for your reply - I think we have a similar experience of using the libre!

    Libre (in)accuracy on HBA1C

My interest in hba1c is that it is used to assess risk of complications, assuming of course it reflects a generally steady glucose level rather than an average of extreme highs and lows.

    Libre (in)accuracy on HBA1C

Thank you! Regarding the 24-48 hours issue, I always apply it 24 hours before activating. My sugars are within the 4-8 range for 90% of the time. Therefore these standard errors should be minimised? Agree with not being factory man, but for me I am happy with management of my highs/lows and...

    Libre (in)accuracy on HBA1C

Hi! Now I'm not talking about trying to get my finger prick to match my scan, as they are measuring different things that respond at different times etc etc BUT the difference between my Libreview HBA1C and the hospital blood test has been consistently very different, latest being 32 vs 44...

Welsh patient on holiday in England...prescription troubles

Yes I agree. I am home now and so trying to find out how best to handle it should this happen a third time. There do appear to be fundamental differences / separations between the two health services which neither side fully appreciate. I have contacted both through their 'customer advice'...

Welsh patient on holiday in England...prescription troubles

Ooh lovely! Drove through there on my way home :) You're right though, a lot of people must just be getting on with it. Either it's me or my surgery who are missing something simple!

Is your registered gp in Wales?

Welsh patient on holiday in England...prescription troubles

Yes I'm thinking this might be the only option. Not sure they'd do it as they're very tight on intervals between repeats - they seem to think I'll stockpile or something, but yes it's an option. Think I need a sit down meeting with the practice manager to sort something out. I just can't believe...

Welsh patient on holiday in England...prescription troubles

Hi, yes I tried 111 and they did issue a prescription over the phone for me but the pharmacy couldn't process it due to not being able to access my records on the system (a Welsh / English issue apparently). They then suggested out of hours as you say and this was in a hospital. My gp cannot/...

Welsh patient on holiday in England...prescription troubles

I've tried honestly, but my gp won't / can't do it and the pharmacies I've approached can't dispense to me despite obviously wanting to help!

Welsh patient on holiday in England...prescription troubles

Sounds good! My gp refuses to do this though, apparently data protection law in Wales prevents them from doing so :/

Welsh patient on holiday in England...prescription troubles

Just wondering how people living in Wales deal with getting replacement insulin / test strips etc on prescription when staying in England? I've had no end of trouble, being given conflicting and incorrect advice and in the end being told to present myself at A&E. Obviously I would ideally...

    problem with prescriptions

Hi, just to say my surgery is regularly this inept. They lost my medical records when transferred in from another practice and wouldn't accept I needed asthma inhalers as they had no record of me having asthma. They also mess up my insulin prescriptions. Wishing you the best of luck sorting...

What test was used for your diagnosis?

I gave birth to a daughter with severe hypoglycaemia, on 97 centile at 35 weeks. Consultant on the neonatal unit diagnosed me by examining her, and it was confirmed with hba1c, fasting glucose test and glucose tolerance test (GP was sceptical so ordered belt and braces)! T1.5 determined by...
