    T1 Fasting Success??

Hi, I’ve seen many friends who have benefited greatly from fasting, so I thought I’d give it a go to lose the excess weight I’ve gained. I completed the 5:2 fasting and after 2 weeks I gained 2lb! Has any T1 out there had success with fasting? If so which method and any tips?? Thanks,

    4 hypos in a 12hrs

No haven't got a 1/2 unit pen. I've tried the 2-1 ratio this morning at breakfast and it's kept me at 7.6 so that seem to have worked this morning. I will see how the rest of the day/weekend goes. Thanks for the above. I see the logic in adjusting both. I still find it interesting that we all...

    4 hypos in a 12hrs

Thanks I think the long acting carb follow up is a very good call (& im not sure why I never thought about it before?!) really appreciate the extra info, suppose sometimes you're too close to see!! Ha ha

    4 hypos in a 12hrs

Thanks for the advice. To be honest I eat 3 meals a day and no snacks, so following it up with a slow burning carb is probably a very good call! Yes I treat the hypo and have someone wanting something so that's probably not helping! Ha ha 2:1 sounds like a safe way to do it, I could always...

    4 hypos in a 12hrs

Hi, thanks for you reply. No not linked to eating and dropped one unit of every meal for being more active too. Hypo treatments have been jelly babies, apple juice and glucotabs (I'll try anything!) how much do you change you ratios at the weekend by? I think this is what I need to do, but not...

    4 hypos in a 12hrs

20% ok maybe I'll try that tomorrow and see what happens. Yes jelly babies have been on hand all day, just don't seem to be taking me above 4.6 all day. Warning signs are not kicking in until I'm really low so I think the 20% will definitely be a good place to start. Thanks again!

    4 hypos in a 12hrs

Thanks for your advice. I'm on the Libre and still can't seem to avoid them! My diabetic nurse spoke about the pumps before, but I'm not completely sure what they do if I'm honest and the pros against the cons! Maybe I'll speak to her again...

    4 hypos in a 12hrs

Hi everyone, Today's been one of those days! Feeling like the hypos have claimed the day. I work 4 days a week and my insulin amounts work well for the days I'm working, but today was a day off. Should be easier than working you think, but with a 3 & a 4 year old the school & playschool run, the...

Handheld massagers - yes or no?!!

Thanks for this! I was thinking that was the case, but there seems to be so many little bits I didn't expect that I thought I'd ask the question! Thanks again

Handheld massagers - yes or no?!!

Hi all, I was brought a handheld massager for Christmas that I had wanted for quite a while. I unpacked it all and when I started to read the instructions the third line stated "not recommended for use by diabetics"! Is this just the company covering themselves or should I genuinely not use it...

Hypo, Hypo, Hypo - I just keep overestimating my dinner time carbs

Thanks Natalie. That sound like exactly the type of thing I was hoping for! No ratio has change from when I was pregnant & seems to work well at every other meal time. Although I've heard that it can sometimes differ at points of the day? I think it is just because it the honeymoon period and my...

Hypo, Hypo, Hypo - I just keep overestimating my dinner time carbs

I think you're right. My time is so limited with working full-time and the family that fitting all the tests and injecting has been hard without weighing too! But I'm guessing that's just something I have to suck up! Ha ha I've tried using the Internet to get grams for portions etc. do u know of...

Hypo, Hypo, Hypo - I just keep overestimating my dinner time carbs

I estimate as a lot of the time it's a family meal. I don't have big portions though so I think maybe I choosing the wrong portion size when calculating?

Hypo, Hypo, Hypo - I just keep overestimating my dinner time carbs

Hi, I have recently been diagnosed as Type 1 after having gestational diabetes. I had to inject with both my pregnancies and don't remember getting it this wrong then. I have been referred for the course but have to wait for one to come up. I can feel the weight I am putting on by keep eating...
