    Adjusting Basal without doctor/nurse

If you complete the DAFNE then you can adjust both basal and Bolus ratios without contact the Nurse or Doctor. I am continually adjusting ratios as my medication is changing every month. Though if unsure at any time I check in with the DSN, which is the annual review. Otherwise seek advice if...

    Type2 confirmed yesterday

Keep an open mind. I not a fan of the keto diet. Ketones by product of the Body trying to use fat as an alternative source of fuel for energy. Ketones are poisonous to the Body. I was Type 2 for 15 years and ate certain carbs, avoided the sugar carbs. HBa1c was well controlled. Eating low or no...

    Liver Block for dawn phenomenon

I have not heard of liver block by eating certain foods. It is a normal reaction of the liver to release glycogen upon waking for the body to have a source of energy. As Type 2 on medication such as tablets then controlling the BG level upon waking is going to be difficult. People on Insulin...

    Misdiagnosis Stories

T1 / T2 here. Question did anyone in this situation get a blood test for antigad antibodies to determine if Type 1 condition is present? I was diagnosed as T2 in 2003 after a fasting blood test. 15 years later after great Hba1C levels, my sugars went sky high. After 6 months a blood test for the...

    High Sugars and Weight Loss

I have seen the Diabetic Nurse yesterday. She believes it may have been a virus that affected my blood sugars. I been told to monitor my sugars each day. She is referring me to a dietician as I have never seen one in the 7 years. Latest sugars still lower than 7 after meals. :D

    High Sugars and Weight Loss

Thanks for the concern. I been to my Doctors several times and a visit to A&E. Both are puzzled as I don't exhibit all typical symptoms of a person with high sugars. There are no ketones present and I actually feel fine in myself this week. My Docotr has referred me to a Diabetic Clinic. One...

Hello I am currently on Metformin 3 times per day. After my lunchtime or evening tablet, I am having episodes of complete muscle weakness and unable to talk. It usually lasts for 1/2 hour. One episode lasted that long I was taken to Hospital. I suffered convulsions or major tremors, felt...
