    Low Carb Bread in France

I like to have a slice of Hi-Lo or LivLife toast with my egg and bacon breakfast. I am going on holiday in France soon and staying in rented apartments. Does anyone know if either of these loaves or something similar are available in supermarkets in France?

    A really good find!

We have a top quality local butchers, unfortunately they make Waitrose prices look reasonable, £20 wouldn't buy enough meat for the weekend.

Drinking wine with meal reduces risk of developing T2 by 14%

Doctors seem generally to approve of the Mediterranean diet even though they are against a LCHF diet which might be the same thing.

I don't understand this. The liver absorbs glucose and stores it as glycogen or fat. If this action was hindered by alcohol surely blood glucose would rise as less would be removed by the liver. Perhaps alcohol prevents the liver from releasing glucose from its stores but why would it release...

    NOT ELIGIBLE FOR BOOSTER?!

As far as I know there has been no "adjustment" of the vaccine for different strains, although there may be in the future. The vaccination is a course of two jabs. The third, and possible fourth, jabs are boosters to counteract the effect of the immunity waning.

I think it depends if you are considered "extremely vulnerable". https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-55045639

These are ok as general purpose socks that aren't tight. I wear them in bed but they might be suitable for @JustACarer 's grandad. https://www.marksandspencer.com/3-pack-cotton-gentle-grip-socks/p/clp60286713

    Diabetes and Long Covid

Hi @IJessWonder, If you haven't already done so, I suggest you register with your doctor for on-line results or at least get them to give you a print out. This avoids any doubt about test result figures and their units.

Type 1 Diabetes & Travel Insurance

I have just being getting some travel insurance quotes and they also ask about cholesterol if, like me, you are a diet controlled Type 2. I assume that, rightly or wrongly, they think the combination of diabetes and raised cholesterol presents more of a risk even though historical. Some of the...

Found a 2019 study on T2 diabetics in Scotland, guess what percentage were classed as In Remission

Doesn't that just mean that if you haven't had diabetes "bad enough" to need medication you stand more chance of remission?

    COVID restrictions gone........................

I am not sure if that is what you were suggesting but despite social media claims the new Pfizer drug is not related to Invermectin. https://apnews.com/article/fact-checking-067310377629

Shouldn't be difficult to provide some references then.

    COVID restrictions gone........................

The 2,000 you mention are people who died shortly after having the vaccine, not surprising as the vaccine was proritised for the very old and vulnerable. The number who died because of a reaction to the vaccine in the whole of the UK is about 10.

    Annual type 2 check up

Unless they tell you otherwise, any time of the day will do. Keep the sample in the fridge if it is going to be more than an hour to the test. Urine samples are used for the kidney related tests. Everything you need to know is probably here...

Good point, probably only relevant to diet controlled type 2's. I made the mistake of not checking which sub-forum the post was in - sorry!

Found a solution to my foot-on-the-floor!

If it is not too drastic does an increase in BG in the morning really matter? As I understand it, the liver keeps its store of glycogen topped up when it can. If some of that glycogen is released as glucose on waking, then glucose will be captured again later, reducing BG, so on average no...
