Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

5.7 this morning. Not too bad considering I had a big blueberry muffin after my tea last night :)

    Diabetes depression

@Richeym Sorry to hear what you are going through. I too suffer with depression and sleep apnoea. The lack of sleep can really make everything else feel worse can't it. I have a cpap machine but find that I'm constantly pulling the mask off while I'm asleep. It is a pain but I sleep better with...

    What is happening to me?

@Lindasar All good advice above. Try not to worry too much, it does get easier. Some very good advice on this forum and the people here seem very nice too. I don't post too often as I also suffer with depression amongst other things so I tend to be 'off in a world of my own' a lot, but when I...

    Farewell

Sorry, forgot to mention that my meds have been knocked down to 1 metformin per day and am monitoring to see how I go now. I am not going mad with the carbs, just eating slightly more than I would normally. @Freema Yes, if I feel really dodgy I will have a sugary drink or suck on a sugary sweet. :)

    Farewell

The symptoms I get most often are extreme sweating, shaking, feeling dizzy, getting confused, slurred speech, and when it's really bad, I pass out (thankfully I usually manage to sit down first).

    Farewell

Yes, that's right. I had been cutting right back on carbs and also avoiding anything with more than a tiny amount of sugar in it. My GP says I'm being too harsh on myself and that BS going too low can be worse than BS going high occasionally. Since I had a friend die recently from complications...

    LCHF bad for cholesterol/heart disease?

Well done! :) I also eat LCHF (most of the time...) and my BG hangs around between 4 and 5 most of the time, which is nice of it . My cholesterol readings are now considered good instead of high (not sure what the actual readings are because I don't have a copy of them but my GP is...

    Farewell

Well done. I think that diabetes seems to affect people in a lot of different ways. If you have truly conquered yours then I am very happy for you :) My GP and DN told me that mine (type 2) is a lifelong condition and that my latest HbA1c of 40 was too low. I have been having quite a few hypos...

HAVE I STRUCK GOLD WITH THIS PEANUT BUTTER?

Peanut butter on lettuce is nice too - sounds weird but tastes lovely. I like the hearts of romaine lettuce best for with peanut butter, nice and crunchy.

Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

After a month or so yoyoing between 4.2 and 5.7, my reading was 3.8 today. Usually anything under 4.5 makes me all shaky, but I'm feeling good so far...
