I should mention that I also received my cheque.

    That Survey Again

I have just received an e.mail from Catherine about a survey for users of Bydureon, and again promising £30 for taking part in the 30-minute survey. I took part in the survey about Victoza and I'm still waiting for my £30. I don't think anyone else here has received payment for participating...

    Post Deleted Re Victoza Survey

I posted earlier that I had not heard from the organisation that ran the survey for Byetta and Victoza users. I have just looked to see if I had had any replies and I'm unable to find it. I also am unable to find the previous post where I asked if anyone had received payment from this comany...

Online survey: BYDUREON and/or VICTOZA users - £30 for 30 minute online survey

I am a member of Diabetes UK and I have written to them to ask if they have any information about this survey. It seems that nobody has received payment for participating in this activity and I'm wondering if it was a means of gathering personal information.

I took this survey at the beginning of December but I have not heard anything since. Has anyone else completed the survey and received their £30?

Re: VICTOZA Don't worry about injecting yourself as you won't feel a thing. I was dreading having to inject, and when I was doing it for the first time with the diabetic nurse, I was surprised when she said that the needle was in. I could not believe it as I didn't feel a thing. If you are...

    Pioglitazone ?

I was on pioglitazone for about seven years until recently when I was prescribed Victoza. I had no ill effects, and only came off it because it is not approved to be taken as triple therapy with Victoza. When I lose more weight I shall ask to go back on and ditch gliclazide.

Why does blood tests need to be fasting?

I recently attended a Diabetes education course at the hospital and we were informed that there is now no need for a fasting test for lipids or HbA1c.

Re: VICTOZA I have been on Victoza for about nine weeks now and it has been tremendously effective. My recent HbA1c was down to 6.9, from 9.8 last October. I have lost almost a stone in weight. I am also taking one Gliclazide daily and four Metformin in divided doses morning and evening...

    Bayer contour USB Meter

Your husband should speak to his diabetic nurse and she will probably give him one for nothing. Lifescan have stopped selling their products and offer them free to diabetics. I have the One Touch Vita, and it is excellent. Lifescan will also provide you with a USB cable to download the...

Re: VICTOZA I have been on Victoza now for about six weeks, and my BG readings are excellent. The initial dose of 0.6ml is to get you acclimatised to Victoza and has very little effect on BG. I'm sure you will find the maintenance dose of 1.2ml will improve your BG.

    Medical Shop

I ordered a Travel Pack on here from the Medical Shop, as I need a cool bag to carry my Victoza pens when I travel to France in a few weeks. I only ordered this on Thursday evening, and it arrived this morning. Excellent service, and I'm delighted with the Travel Pack: highly recommended.

    Insulin or Byetta

Byetta every time, or Victoza. I was recently prescribed Victoza, and it has been miraculous. My readings are between 4 and 7, and I have lost weight. The alternative was to go on insulin which would have caused my weight to balloon. I also take one Gliclazide and two Metformin at breakfast...

Re: VICTOZA I was e.mailed details of the Victoza support website by my DN yesterday. It looks interesting, and I have registered. You need the batch no from your Victoza box to sign up. http://www.mydiabetesfreshstart.co.uk/

    Bad And Misleading Advice

The below is a quote from another forum. "This is a link to Jenny's (bloodsugars101) blog and deals with a Byetta competitor, Victoza. Another dangerous but ineffective drug?" This was supported by another of its frequent posters. I despair of people who seem to delight in denigrating...

    First appointment with diabetic nurse

Sorry to hear about your experience, but not all DNs are like that. My DN is excellent, and has looked after me really well. I have recently been taken off Metformin because I have impaired renal function. I was prescribed an increased dose of Gliclazide - four per day instead of just one -...

Is there a relationship between heel spur and diabetes?

Are you taking a statin? I suffered from this for some years. Had X rays, NSAIDs, gel inserts for my shoes. After reading an article in the Sunday Telegraph I stopped taking my statin - Pravastatin 40mg - and it cleared up after a couple of days. I started taking the statin again and my...
