OK, so how much weight did you put on over Christmas?

As I said in my previous post, everybody is different and deals with weight differently. In my case, being a kidney patient and t2 diabetic, it is more easy for me to lose the excess as most of it is fluid. But I still find that sticking to a healthy diet works for me and as long as I don't over...

What should your BG reading be before bed?

True, but I can only go by my own experiences Tim2000s. Just trying to be helpful on the subject. I realise that every patient is different and will have a different experience to me.

What should your BG reading be before bed?

Hi LauraC27, further to other replies you've had on this subject. May I tell you of my experiences? I used to go to bed with a BG of around 9mmols and wake the following morning with one of 4.5 - 5.5 on Lantus using 6 units. However I now don't take any insulin at all now unless my BG is...

OK, so how much weight did you put on over Christmas?

Hardly any, in fact I lost about 3kg!! Mind you most of that was excess fluid which came off whilst on dialysis. Had a very good Xmas overall. Not supposed to indulge in alcoholic beverages due to a liver problem but did have 1 half glass of procssecco with Xmas dinner. Pancreas appearing to be...

Not diabetic anymore??? Confused as heck :(

Maybe but I prefer a natural remedy if available instead of chemicals. Colpermin is available in most pharmacies without perscription if you wish to pay for it at around £5.60 a box of 20 or £19.99 for a box of 80 capsules (prices may vary where you shop).

Not diabetic anymore??? Confused as heck :(

Further to my recent posts. My weight 6 months ago was 68.8kg, now it's down to 63.1kg. Admittedly a lot of that was fluid build up due to inadequate clearance whilst on pd. But a significant improvement just the same. I am now at my correct dry weight for the first time in months. I have never...

Not diabetic anymore??? Confused as heck :(

I use peppermint oil capsules to control any stomach cramps or spasms. Look for a medicine called Colpermin or ask your gp for it on perscription. Also there is another brand called Mintec. Try these! They worked a treat for me.

    Restless leg syndrome

Here's a conundrum, is restless leg syndrome a diabetic symptom or a renal symptom? I know it's to do with nerve damage to your legs and feet but is it it sugar damage or something else, maybe an inbalance in blood chemistry? Anybody out there got any ideas? I ask because I suffer from this and...

    possible return of pancreatic function

Not sure what you mean by beta cells Mafat, sounds to technical for me. Having said that, I'm always willing to learn. I've been a renal patient for over 30 yrs so know quite a lot about that side of things. Being diabetic just complicates things a bit more. I am surprised though that after 14ys...
