    Is it just me then who is not allowed an Aviva monitor? I was given one on diagnosis 4 years ago and then without consultation given a caresens monitor :(

    I have been type 1 for 4 years and have had 4 tattoos in that time. They have all healed up perfectly and I have had no problems. Hope this helps. Ruth

    Type 1 for 4yrs, new here.

    Hi I've been type 1 for nearly four years and last week went on a DAFNE course. It has changed my life already. It really really helps. I felt so alone until last week, everything just felt like guesswork and now think that I my actually be in control. Have you considered it? Ruth

    Dafne!

    I am on the DAFNE course this week....and what an eye opener!!!! I have learnt more in 3 days than I have in the last (nearly) 4 years of being a diabetic and am enjoying learning more about this condition and just chatting to other type ones and sharing stories and experiences. :D Ruth

    Hi, I am 38 and will have been type 1 for three years at the end of this month....and yet I still feel that it is all guess work. I have only just discovered this site and on the one hand found it really helpful and on the other, it scared me as it proved how little I actually seem to know.
