Hi Sorry for the personal question. I have had a Mirena coil for 18 months and my cycle had stopped. I have been on metformin since December and my cycle has returned. Have any other women had similar issues? I know some people get given metformin for PCOS to encourage ovulation which kind of...

Type 2 blood sugar testing or not

Hi all When I had my initial appointment the nurse said that I didn’t need to test myself as it’s only t1 who need to do that to ensure they are administering the right amount of insulin. Do other T2s test and if so how often throughout the day. Thanks in advance and happy new year to you all.

Hi. I am on the waiting list. Have passed all my assessments in terms of surgeon dietician and psych. Not had to lose weight for it. Think it’s different for different PCTs. I’m at St George’s and all they were worried abut was if I had health conditions that would cost the NHS money which I did...

    Confused

Hi all I had an HBA1C test last year and was told the result was too high and needed testing again in 6 weeks. They did this and it went back down again so they weren't concerned. I'm still having some symptoms such as excessive tiredness and increased need to pee especially at night. They did...

    Blood Glucose readings

Dear all I was told by my GP that I was pre-diabetic after having had a Hba1c reading of 49 in Nov and then 43 in Jan. I believe I am still having symptoms so a colleague suggested that I do a weekly record of my readings along with a food diary and then take it to the GP and say what do you...

So just to ensure I am understanding what you guys are saying, you would say the result of 49 would make me Type 2 diabetic and I should eat and live as such even though my GP didn't say I was? Re testing when should i do this? First thing in the morning? before meals after meals? Sorry still...

Thanks all. @Prem51 I was told when my first result came back that they have to do two blood tests at least 8 weeks apart to be able to diagnose diabetes and that it can't be done from just one test. I wasn't happy when the receptionist told me my result was ok so went to see GP who told me...
