Thanks Ellie - pumps can definitely help with those variations. I'm trying to identify some different basal requirements myself. Doubly tricky due to perimenopause and general hormonal nonsense which seems to add another layer of complication as a woman with diabetes! :)

Because my existing pump doesn't offer closed loop technology. I'm happy to learn a new pump as the tech moves on and gets better.

I'd agree with everyone here. The pros outweigh the cons hugely. It's loads more discreet than injections so if that's your worry then give it a go. I never had those concerns as I saw any questions / curiosity as a way to educate people about diabetes!

Yes true. I haven't had this problem though and once again, this is what I was advised. One can only give one's own experience no?. I think as long as the bacon / eggs was noted it would be OK for determining basal. Obviously with discussion with dsn etc

@Lenwe I'm pretty sure micro bolusing isn't helping Sounds like it would help you to do some non carb tests to get your basal right and try to get on a dafne carb counting course Best of luck.

Thanks @tigger. I am doing this. FWIW, I am not hypo unaware. I do get symptoms. I am working on increasing my awareness levels and will not drive where at all possible. Thanks for your input and/or support

Please understand that I ALWAYS test before driving and most of my drives are less than 15 minutes... But I do appreciate what you're all saying.
