Which to choose? Decisions decisions!

I am in the very lucky position to be a pump user for 13 years, currently using Omnipod and Freestyle Libre 2 and it's changed my life. I can't imagine having to go back to MDIs now!

My diabetes team have let me know that there will likely be the option of me upgrading to a closed loop system in the near future and shared this very handy link to the virtual storerooms of all the pumps available. I thought they'd be useful to share

For Medtronic, Roche, Medtrum, OmniPod, Dexcom, CampAPS FX

and these for

For t:slim X2™ insulin pump (tandem pump):

For DANA RS pump:

For YpsoPump:

Now I have decision paralysis and can't decide which to go for! I remember feeling so relieved when I moved away from tubed pumps but it seems like the best options for automatically adjusting insulin delivery are still with tubed.

I just wondered if people could share with me which pump they are currently using and saying why they like/dislike it? I don't want to choose one and then realise I've made a terrible mistake so a few other opinions would be really valuable.

Thank you all so much in advance :)

As far as I can tell there are two pumps that do "fully included" looping, the Medtronic and the t:slim, contained within the pump supplied software.

There are two other pumps, Dana & Ypso, that use the Camb APS/FX software on an Android Phone to loop but these need seperate funding, this extra sw costs another £800+ per year to licence, so if you choose this route make sure your team will fund it. Take care with operation as both pumps support Android and Apple IOS (but Camb APS/FX looping software only supports Android for now).

I use the t:slim with the Dexcom CGM and find its perfect for me, I've nothing to complain about but some do not like the need to fill the cartridge (it takes an extra 2mins every three days). I use Apple IOS without any issues for both Dexcom and Pump.

Amazing, thanks for the heads up Chas! I think the Medtrum also does looping with the Dexcom G6 but tbh, I looked at so many I may have got a bit confused!
I've fallen foul of the Android/Apple thing before as Libre 2 supports some Android phones but not mine annoyingly! Will bear that in mind when considering options.
Cheers for your reply :)

Not 100% sure but think Medtrum supports insulin suspension (like the older Medtronic pump), when your CGM says your going low, but not Looping so does not adjust basal other than turning it off and on.

I have to add that I've been using Dexcom for 12 years, I can honestly say I've had no iPhone issues or IOS. Also since having t:slim (just over 2 years also no issues). I always run the latest version of IOS.

The only issues if seen is if BT is being blocked, so phone or pump on wrong side of body to Dexcom or cat sitting on Pump or Dexcom. ;)

Hi, I’m currently upgrading from the Insight to the Ypsomed.
Yesterday I got my trial of Dexcom G6 in preparation for the Ypsomed upgrade which is soon to follow.
I’ll be closed looping.
I chose Ypsomed over the others as it uses a 1.6ml pump cart, (same as my current insight pump.)
T:slim was a close runner up, but I love the ease of using insulin cartridges in my pump.
Good luck,
PS, 24 hours in and Dexcom is blowing my mind! I’ve been finger pricking all my life!
