And I thought broccoli was bad...

There is a fair amount of dairy in that diet. It can be surprising how the sugars add up. They may be small in each item but combined they may be raising your levels substantially.

    Peer Pressure

I have found that wine has no noticeable effect on BS. The only beer that I drink is craft beer and that elevates my BS about the same as a low carb meal.

    Type 2 Carbs v Sugars

Personally I have found keeping cabs under 100 g most days by eating very little bread, pasta, potatoes and rice. I have not totally cut them out but keep a close eye on my BS levels. How many carbs usually depends on how active I have been that day. after a while you get a good idea of the...

I was diagnosed T2 in December 2011 and like everyone else was given the standard NHS advice. When I saw the dietician she thought my diet was pretty good and only required a small adjustment. It would appear that by following NHS guidelines it's only possible to control your diabetes with...

    Doc said I was stupid

I was diagnosed T2 in December 2011 and was on Metformin for two years until my kidney function took a dive. I was taken off Metformin and reverted to diet only as my HbA1c was down to 47 this was ok until last year when it shot up to the mid 60's. By last November my HbA1c was down to 52...
