What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Now I know what CMT means and sadly I don't have the app but would be very grateful if @maglil55 would let me have her recipe for Creme Brûlée and if anyone has any tweaks to the CCBs that stops the inulin going into a lump :arghh: Many thanks

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Thank you @ianpspurs for that insight. I do remember now attempting your CCBs but had a bit of a problem with the inulin, it went into a lump! Does anyone have the recipe so I could try again?

    Insulin Resistance and Insulin Production

I agree that could well be the case but short of starving myself or getting a scan to see exactly what's going on it is very difficult. I also think that menopausal women who are TOFI struggle with hormone balance issues and this can have a very negative effect on insulin resistance ...

    Insulin Resistance and Insulin Production

I believe Sarah Hallberg has said in a recent talk that people who have Type2 that are slightly overweight when diagnosed but not obese are one of the most difficult groups to fix especially when it comes to fasting glucose and insulin resistance. I fit into this category. I was just...

    Rhubarb

I love the forced rhubarb stewed for a few minutes, put in ramekins and cooled, then make a custard, pour over the top and bake in a Bain Marie until just set ........ delicious :)

    Medichecks Fasting Insulin

Yes, that could be the reason but I had lost 18 kg and weighed 58kg at the time of the test. Maybe this is not enough to remove fat from my pancreas but don't want to lose any further weight as skin and bones now. Will be interesting to have another done in the near future. Best of luck with...

    Medichecks Fasting Insulin

@Jim Lahey, I had my fasting insulin tested about 18 months ago and it came back as 3 however my FBG was 6.4 and my HbA1c was at 39. As far as I can tell my fasting insulin was at the lower end but obviously my FBG and HbA1c were at the higher end ..... not sure what this told me! Hope to get...

    Do you still enjoy food

I really don't get bored with low carb eating but what I do find a bit of a bore, especially when I'm pressed for time, is making everything from scratch. Occasionally I would like to be able to just pop something in the oven! I think having a full time job and kids that need running here...

Advice - balancing electrolytes and hydration

Hi @Goonergal, a couple of thoughts ..... Having a bath or footbath with Dead Sea salts, for minimum 20 minutes, gives a balance of minerals such as magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium and crosses the skin barrier very effectively. I find it works to give a good balance rather than...

Best place to get a HBA1c Reading (apart from your doctor)

Check out Thriva.co. I've had various tests done by them and they seem reasonably priced. As @bulkbiker said you will need to find someone to take your blood although they too send a lancet for you to prick your finger and obtain the blood yourself.

    Well done @bulkbiker

Absolutely agree with all the posts ........ @bulkbiker you are a STAR and your numbers enviable! I don't post much but read a lot and your posts and responses are always knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. I've noticed many knowledgeable people drift off the forums over years but your...
