    Pins and needles

I agree to run it by your GP. I had pins and needles in my left hand, I mentioned it to my doctor and after some tests at the hospital, I had a trapped nerve in my elbow. Had it operated on about 2months ago and it is really improved. All the best. Emerald

Appreciate your input. I think some or all of the medical profession [ I wouldn't like to say] are of the opinion Type 2's don't need to check sugar levels unless they are on medication that puts them at risk of Hypoglycemia. They feel the 3 monthly check is sufficient. I had to prove my case to...

Living with Hypoglycemia and Type 2 diabetes

On my journey I need help mates and many of you qualify on this site. Thanks once again. My doctor says to much info for the lay people is unhelpful, ah what qualifies a lay diabetic, certainly not one who is diabetic.Being as a Johnny Five, I love to know. Yep I qualify for all three mentioned...

Living with Hypoglycemia and Type 2 diabetes

Thank you so much, what a relief. Reactive Hypoglycemia is worthy of further study. I was interested to read that the Bacteria Helicobactor Pylori is linked to reactive H; I have the bacteria it's been treated twice, but refuses to go. That is worth looking at. Thanks you so much. If anyone else...

Living with Hypoglycemia and Type 2 diabetes

Hi there nice to hear from you again. It sounds like you are where I was some years ago. So there is hope. Having a combination of conditions means we have to be good jugglers. I found it so distressing being diagnosed with Diabetes. I had years of low sugars and learning to listen to my body...

Living with Hypoglycemia and Type 2 diabetes

I was gobsmacked to read your reply..I know it's the pits when your sugars drop like that. The same thing has happened to me, it's crazy.I got a real bad low in Ireland, so I made for the nearest pub,I don't drink but well a pub is a pub, the landlords wife is a diabetic. I do not exaggerate I...

Living with Hypoglycemia and Type 2 diabetes

Hi Thank you so much for responding. A little history. The hypoglycemia started 1999-2000. It was debilitating, would leave me feeling exhausted,I would have the usual hunger, weakness shaking and like a panic attack and would last about 45minutes. I could not predict it and it would happen a...

:D Thanks Sid, I see it. I can really see what you are saying. I sound daft saying that, but there's knowing and seeing. It's like coming out of a dark tunnel. I eat the spuds last night, well with corned beef hash. Two hours later I was 10.00, so that plate was to much, this morning I am 7.2...

    breakfast readings

I was really interested to read this...I love porridge, but it doesn't fill me and sends my BG soaring up. I will try the recipe given here and see if that helps. I'm in the odd position of being Hypoglycemic as well as T2. So it's like juggling with High BG and Low BG, if any of you have any...

    Test Strips withdrawn

Hi Sue, everyone, I went to the doctors to night, I can have 1 packet of test strips per month, but only because I'm Hypoglycemic and that my condition is separate to my Diabetes.. He sees no benefit of Type 2 testing. He believes there is no positive benefits by doing so. He does not see that...
