    Wrong insulin by mistake

Hi I’m on Abasaglar (12u morning & 15u night). Take 1u humalog per 10g carbs. At tea time should’ve taken 7u of humalog but gave 7u of abasaglar by mistake. Didn’t take any rapid acting with my tea. Not sure what to do about my night time abasaglar. Should I omit it or just take the 8u. I’m...

    Blood Sugar High

Yes my hubby’s here. I’ve rung 111, not very helpful. They said I’d to go to a GP at 2:30am based at a hospital over 10 mile away. So think I’ll ride it out and contact DNS in the morning. I’ve checked for ketones & negative. I take usually humalog 4-6 units per meal and then abasaglar 14...

    Taking Insulin Abroad

Thanks for that. Have been looking online at the Frio pouches. I have 2 different pens (humalog & abasaglar) so will need to take 2 of each then in case they get lost. Do the pouches fit more than 1 pen? I’ve been looking at getting a mini fridge for home too as I don’t have enough room in my...

    Does Insulin Affect Your Appetite?

Since starting on insulin 2 weeks ago my appetite has changed. I’ve never eaten breakfast and struggle to make myself eat it. If I do it tends to be a brunch. I have a light lunch (2 units humalog), then at tea time (3 units humalog). I’m finding that I’m starving 9pm onwards. I take a basal...

Hi mines 15.7 this morning. What do I do? Was supposed to see endocrinologist on Wednesday to discuss possibility of starting insulin. It was cancelled because I couldn’t get there because of the snow. It’s been re-arranged in 2 weeks. Is that too long to wait, should I speak to GP? Feel ok but...
