    Freestyle Libre and airport security

https://forum.diabetes.org.uk/boards/threads/freestyle-libre-sensor-stopped-working.52594/ Guess it depends on factors like what scanners and how close to it you are. At £50 a sensor, expensive lesson to learn! Josh

    Freestyle Libre and airport security

I don't have one, did a lot of reading up because I might be getting one! Just a note that whilst the airport scanners don't give problems, library ones do! They stop the sensor working! So if you're travelling don't travel to a library!!! (-8

Newly diagnosed and a little befuddled

@castaliath Welcome to the forum. Firstly congrats on joining, I'm a new diabetic too and have found this place really helpful! As previously suggested the think like a pancreas book is often recommend, I have it but haven't had time to read through it yet! I've been injecting for a little...

    Help with breakfast: Porridge

So it got a little worse this morning. 8.4 pre, 3.9 after. Just eaten some raisens and a packet of crisps. I need to pack some more healthy snacks if this is going to be a regular thing! My waist line won't appreciate it!!! It only occurred to me this morning that I changed novarapid pens as...

    Accidental bad sugar day...

@yycdordor thanks for that, that's very useful. I'll speak to my diabetes nurse tomorrow as I'm really unsure about how levemir works and how split doses will affect me. Will drop to 9u in the AM and have as similar start to the day food wise and take it from there! Thanks

    Accidental bad sugar day...

Hi @Juicyj thanks for that! Glad I'm not alone, and looking at the posts / likes etc on your profile, you're not new here like me! I am trying with the documentation, here is a snap shot of today! If i could sing praise to MySugr any louder I would!!!

    Help with breakfast: Porridge

@pinewood Thanks for that. It was great to see a number that low, but equally it hasn't been in keeping with the rest of my previous findings. I didn't feel hypo then and didn't treat it as as you say it's not officially a hypo. When i checked a little later I was 3.9 and the jelly babies...

    Help with breakfast: Porridge

Thanks @noblehead that's helpful, I need to learn how to test and re-test my basal levels. I also really need to sit down and read the think like a pancreas book thats currently untouched on my bedside table. With exams looming, I'm getting massively behind on my revision work so don't have...

    Accidental bad sugar day...

Thanks @noblehead, really just don't understand it. Scared me a bit. Hi @yycdordor. Yes my DNS told me to just take 15u once a day. I've been knocking that down slowly as I feel that my 'average' sugar is too low. It could be I've got my i:c ratio wrong too. Guess I'm showing my genuine...

    Help with breakfast: Porridge

Well okay, back to the drawing board on this one. Could just be having an off day... but Data recapped again so you can all see all the info, in bold is the new bit... There is 44g of carbs in my bowl of porridge. I do put a little bit of real butter to add a little flavour (and use full fat...

    Accidental bad sugar day...

So I've had a bad BS day. Well I wasn't having a bad sugar day. Woke up from a post dinner nap feeling absolutely rotten, could hardly co-ordinate myself into taking a blood sugar, let alone open the starburst wrappers from my hypo bag when my BS came back at 1.7mmol/L. +1 to the 'Jelly Babies...

    Logging snacks - diaries.

Hi @t1caitlin I feel a bit of a pack rat carrying all my diabetes components with me so decided I'd try the app. I am a bit of a techie so it also plays to my inner geek. So this is a +1 to the MySugr app, I've paid to upgrade to the pro version (under £3/month) and I've really appreciated...

    Hypo symtoms

Just woke up from a nap feeling rotten. Dizzy, shakey, sweats and felt like I was going to be sick, could hardly walk... BS was 1.7, lowest I've ever had. I was also cold / clammy on the hands, made taking a BS hard and took three attempts to get co-ordinated enough to put blood on the test...

    Help with breakfast: Porridge

Day 5, dropped the basal this morning to 11 as had a couple of hypo feelings and one low reading which I really need to avoid in my line of work. As a side note my morning BS was high at 9.4 this morning, I was expecting that as I realised i forgot to take my metformin and my pre bed BS was...

    Whoopsie, new and ketotic!

Ah yes, I re-read my original post and it never states what my BS was before. I was 16+mmol/L with a high I think of around 22mmol/L when my ketones started rising. Very high! I must say I'm only logging the carb content into MySugr simply because I want all my information in one place! I wish...
