My low-effort occasional late-night fillers to help with insomnia probably due to hunger are full fat plain yoghourt, with some berry fruit if wished, or peanut butter, without salt. Hope helpful.
I find Jumbo oats from healthfood shop cooked as porage in microwave, having been soaked in water overnight with a dessertspoon of Goji Berries, served with lashings of full fat yoghourt, and a small not too ripe banana doesn't spike my BG too much at 2 hours and keeps me full for several hours...
I'm a low BMI prediabetic who's kept between 42 and 45 for 3 years now on lower carb higher fat, without diabetes medication, and been able to halve my BP medication, so pretty happy so far! All the best to you!
I've taken Soya Lecithin /granules from the local Wholefood shop for some years instead of statins, on which I had some joint pain and find that my cholesterol, though a little high at 6.1, is mainly so because of 'good' cholesterol.
Does anyone know whether it's safe to keep going on the Keto diet, even after the desired weigh loss and more has been reached - asking for a relative.
Peanut butter is the better known, but it's a jar of ground nuts, basically, sometimes with added sugar and salt to be wary of (!), much more moist than it sounds because of the oils - nice and filling!
There are almond and cashew versions etc. from Health Food stores and some supermarkets...
I'd advise against copious use of soya milk and other soy products as they can stimulate a female hormone response, and not in a good way if too much, and even block absorption of essential minerals like calcium and magnesium and zinc, leaving a person anxious and low in resilience and immunity...
- If hungry before bed, after having evening meal earlier, I find a heaped tablespoon of full-fat yoghourt or a chunk of cheese helps a lot - no or very low carbs!
I always like to have a backup plan/avocado just in case the avo isn't eatable! I enjoy them with low GI bread (Burgen or local bakery multiseed loaf, and butter!) Enjoy!
I find I test OK with porage made with jumbo oats and water, topped with plain yoghourt, small banana, mixed seeds and goji berries, and a big spoonful of hemp protein and lecithin granules to keep the cholesterol ratios good - a real winner for me!
