    CBD Oil

I'm a retired nutritionist who specialized in weight loss and type 2 diabetes. I've been on 17 different diabetes drugs. Smoked cannabis lowers blood sugar better than insulin, or any other diabetes drug, including incretins (Bayetta, Victoza, etc.). CBD doesn't do much but the combination of...

Fat doesn't make you fat, only high insulin can do that. Lowering insulin you can lose a half kilo a day. Eating no high glycemic load carbohydrates.

    Testing Blood Levels

It's not counting carbs. No two food carbs effect your blood sugar the same. That's why we have glycemic load. The foods that spike blood sugar, even more than pure sugar are: #1 grains, #2 potato, #3 dried fruits, #4 all types of sugars. We all need to learn the the glycemic loads of foods.

    Food Insulin Index

No body should be using glycemic index as it is very inaccurate as it's based on a comparison of 50 grams of carbohydrate of each food and how that amount raises blood sugar in many individuals tested. It doesn' represent a true portion size you would actually eat. Take watermelon for ecample...

Blood sugars geting higher despite low carb diet

May be some foods you are still eating are high glycemic load. Get a phone app or little book on glycemic loads of foods. Three worst are - rice cakes (puffed rice), corn flakes (all grain products), and dried fruit (especially raisins and dried dates)

Is Low Carb + Fasting a benefit ?

Having to take less insulin is good. So yes, eating lower glycemic load helps a type 1 as well. I read a survey of 26,000 type 1s in America. Not a single person had an HbA1C under 7.0%. Diabetic damage starts at an HbA1C around 6.2.

Why Do Diabetics Fail To Adhere To Dietary Regimes?

This is interesting as I'm a yank and it sounds like diabetics in the UK are in the dark as much as the US diabetics. Type 2 diabetes is caused by too high of insulin levels, which the cells know too much insulin is toxic. The cells shut down the door that lets insulin into the cells. This is...
