    converting daily readings to HbA1c

    Hi I have just been on "ask the expert forum". There is a new change in the way Hb1Ac is given, it is in mmol/mol. for eg 7% = 53mmol/mol. We now need a converter to milimol /Litre.

    Hi Sorted the DCCT out, thanks. I found a simple conversion from old Hb1Ac(percentage) to new millimol/mol. It is called take away two then 2 again For eg HbiAc of 7% is 53 mmol/mol Thus 7-2=5 5-2=3 Answer=53mmmol/mol. eg 2 HbA1c of 12% is 108mmol/mol 12-2=10 10-2=8...

    Thanks everyone. I agree that if you are on tablets/insulin the strips are free. if you look elsewhere on the forums you will find several comments about this unfairness.(13 Feb 08 on the Diabetes Discussion Forum) The N.I.C.E guidelines do not encourage self testing.     Hi I am type 2 diet/exercise controlled. Like many others I do not qualify for free test strips.(An outrage in my opinion ) Has anyone found a good source(and reliable)of these test strips at a reduced price?

    Feel funny - could it be signs of hypo

    hi Newly diagnosed as T2. Bought myself a meter so that I could monitor progress, but my GP will not prescribe replacement drums. Seems strange, any one else come across this? Jaz
