    Freestyle Libre sensor unavailable

Still waiting on mines (in Edinburgh), my prescription went in between xmas and new year so that's been 5 weeks of finger pricking so far and it's been a helluva struggle transitioning back to them.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

I've been around the 50's and 60's for probably the past decade. My first appointment since starting Libre in February and it's down to 44, my lowest ever.

    Medtronic Reservoir Lubrication

Hi all, I'm finding my past few reservoirs have been absolutely drenched in lubricant, I've never noticed a lot of lubricant in the reservoirs before, but my latest batch have most definitely got a hell of a lot of lubricant in them. I take it this isn't a manufacturing issue and it's now just...

Type 1: Racing heart rate and high blood sugar

I think it is quite common, I suffer from this too and it's usually in the morning if waking up with a high. I haven't really looked into it as it tends to right itself when I get the levels back to normal so would be interested to hear if anyone has experienced this and what the explanation is.

    Emotional Impact of T1

I wouldn't over analyse the mood swings too much, I was diagnosed at 7 and I'm sure I had good days and bad days, kids tend to live in the moment and if something annoys them then everyone will know about it, but it'll be forgotten about an hour later!

    COLD WEATHER

I can't sleep with socks on either, it just feels wrong! Having socks on doesn't help anyway, they'd just be cold in the socks. The only cure for this is a hot water bottle, wouldn't be without mine! I tend to find I need a little more insulin in the winter and a little less in the summer.

Managing my diabetes is essentially my day job.

Interesting thread and it just shows the wide spectrum of how people cope, in my own personal opinion I was one of the lucky ones having being diagnosed at 7 years old (I'm 33 now), so my type 1 diabetes is completely second nature and something I've lived with for as long as I remember. It's...

    Type 1: Unexplained highs

Yeah another vote for stress, even the smallest amount of stress can cause absolute chaos with me. Hope you've got yourself sorted, would rather hypo a few times than run a high like that for any length of time, it's properly miserable.

    Issues with Freestyle Libre

To be honest this now sounds like a personal grudge against pharmaceutical companies rather than the specific issue of a senor falling off your arm, from what I understand you've knocked the sensor and it's come off, I've knocked my sensor a few times but it hasn't come off, swings and...

    A quick hello

Hi all, Thought I'd post a quick hello, been a long time reader but have never registered, so thought I'd bite the bullet and start participating :) Been a type 1 since I was 7 years old, 21 years ago, seen lots of changes (for the better) in that time, I'm waiting to see if I'll get funding...
