    Exercise & BG

When I played squash , my next bolus had to be 50% less than normal. When I now spin [ arthritic knees stopped my squash, but I can still cycle a lot] such exercise does not really affect my next bolus. Should it??

    Type 1: Delayed hypo

Stress actually makes my bg numbers go down, not up. Exercise used to make me inject half my normal quick insulin dose. Now I don't bother with halving. I have lost all my hypo warning signs but have got two new, reliable ones; 1 When we look at the sun. we close our eyes quickly and get a...

Type 1s: Lowering carbs to below 200g a day

I cannot get my carbs daily total down below 200gms. Once I had a remarkable 155 [we ate out at a hotel], but it is usually well above 200. I envy the low carbers. My wife does not buy me good GI food like rice lentils beans and nuts. However she showers me with vegetables, potatoes and chips...

    Pump Users: Need feedback.

I am in the unusual position of qualifying for a pump but my family do not want me to use one! I am not IT-literate and am prone to lose or mis-set gadgets. My memory is ok and I like routines - I have been Type 1 for 17 years and no complications yet. I do a lot of exercise and have stress at...
