    Glucometer recommendations

Thankyou - that's my mental argument as well; surely if the medical profession's advice to Type 2 people is to be more conscious of their diet and to understand blood sugars, then they can't argue that there's no reason to know your own levels... I'm a creature of habit, so have a fairly fixed...

    Glucometer recommendations

Thankyou very much - it makes sense for this to be the case. I'll make a point of directly asking whether she's saying that I *shouldn't* test my levels, and see where I get from there..

    Glucometer recommendations

Thankyou all so much for sharing, there's so much useful info! I had no idea that the meters weren't regulated - in my naivety I thought that they'd have been calibrated and tightly controlled devices.. In terms of budget and how much I'd use, I'd anticipate testing once or twice daily, just...

    Glucometer recommendations

Hi I've spent a while researching, and have come across so many different reviews and so many pro/con opinions that I'm now completely confused by what blood tester I should get. I'm just diagnosed as type-2, and my doctor stated that measuring wasn't necessary as I'm not insulin dependent...

    Weird question

I appreciate they're not for everyone - I just happen to find it easier than taking one pill for zinc, another for Vitamin b and so on, and accept it might be a few quid more..

    Weird question

Thanks - that's useful to know, definitely will discuss with the doctor or nurse in due course. I don't have a meter yet as the doctor said that it wasn't needed yet, so didn't prescribe one; though having read the information from the forum moderator, I might broach the subject again as I'd...

    Weird question

I take them as I find the vitamin b helps with some joint pain, but actually find that I feel better throughout the day as well. Might be a psychosomatic thing. I just don't see the need for a sarcastic comment on someone else's brand-choice of multivitamin - especially on a forum that's meant...

    Weird question

I got diagnosed type-2 last week, and had my first dose of metformin yesterday night. I didn't think much about it earlier when I drank it (completely on autopilot) but does anybody know if there's any reason why a Berrocca (the fizzy kind) each day should be a problem? Thx Dave

    Diagnosed last week

Hi all I was diagnosed as type-2 last Thursday, and after initially being a bit scared, I've now got quite a positive outlook of losing some weight etc, and have started controlling my diet rigorously since being diagnosed. The trouble I'm having at the moment is that all the articles I read...
