    Lancet challenges!!

I use an Accu Chek Multiclix lancet. I was diagnosed the day before I went on holiday, and I was shown how to inject the insulin but had to figure the lancet out myself, so I feel your pain (literally)! It was months before I realised you leave the cap on the lance while using it! I have it...

    Alcohol & Metformin

I have got plenty drunk on it many times and don't seem to have had a problem. Like a lot of drugs though, it may effect different people in different ways. Not that I'm encouraging getting drunk, but I'd test it out before doing it in Munich!

Type 2 Diabetes ... Mum getting lows although on Metformin

Re: Type 2 Diabetes ... Mum getting lows although on Metform Oh, and the other thing I forgot to mention, you can't have a hypo on metformin so try not to worry about your levels getting too low unless you're injecting insulin.

Type 2 Diabetes ... Mum getting lows although on Metformin

Re: Type 2 Diabetes ... Mum getting lows although on Metform Everyone is different, but I was advised by my diabetic consultant to try and keep my pre-meal (fasting) sugar levels between 4 and 6. Wow, thanks for the response everyone! I didn't mention the diet because I wasn't sure if it was allowed, but seeing as you asked... I'm doing Weight Watchers. I'm not going to any of the meetings, I'm just doing the on-line version and tracking all my food using their website tracker...

    I have come off insulin!

Hi all, I am not a regular poster here, in fact I have only posted once before when I asked about reducing my insulin amount. I have been dieting since May, and have lost almost 5 stone now. Ever since starting the diet my sugar levels have been so low I have been in danger of hypos (I used to...

    No longer insulin dependent?

Thanks for the response! I haven't had an HbA1c since I started dieting, I am due one now but wanted to go for a couple more weeks on the diet to give maximum impact on the test. Before dieting I would have a pre-meal reading of anything between 5 and 7, and post-meal reading of anything from...

A little about me, with a question for you to answer if you manage to get to the bottom of this wall of text! I am 38 and I have been injecting insulin for the last 4 years - I...
