Morning folks just an update readings still high tested this morning 14.2 but it falls when I eat slice of toast I'm on 2000mg metformin a day but since I had ciprofloxin things have not settled yet any advice would help thanks

Hi jacki yeah I had problems with normal metformin tablets but got to say not to bad it will calm down if you can tolerate it.i changed to metformin mr no problems but I feel it does not have same strength as the normal one

My hba1c has been fine last month .ive had a kidney stone and was on ciprofloxin for 10 days my bg levels are higher at moment .all bold and urine test are normal but my readings are higher than normal any advice welcomed

It's not easy finding the right balance I was part of a reasearch program at Dundee university in Scotland .it was helpfull as everyone is different when my bg gets to 6.0 I start to feel shaky the reason is my body has set it own alarm and starts to pump out glucose from the liver as a response...

They also told me that fasting is not helpful as it can cause liver to turn fat into glucose which produce ketones

I've found that my low carb diet is causing kidney stones had to go to hospital because of ketones in urine but it was kidney stone awful pain .told to up water intake and balanced diet no so much low carb .its a minefield not easy to know what's right

Asarpartame has had more research than any other sweetener the amount you would need to consume before there's a risk is enormous
