    FIASP Question

I got put on this a month or so back and things where fine, did its job and my Blood sugars rarely spiked. However into my 5th week now and I'm finding them spiking a lot higher pretty much most of the time about 3 hours after a meal so I'm constantly having to correct. Now I'm sure I read...

    FIASP - New user

Thanks for the comment, I agree that so far when it works it certainly works. Ive just become reliant over 20 years on novorapid and how my body reacted to it. I guess with anything new it takes time.

    FIASP - New user

Just been switched to this from NovoRapid, bit touch and go at the minute but its only been a week so may have to give it time. Reacts totally different when i add a little extra to deal with alcohol (cider), but thats not an issue and its probably down to the potency rate (Bloods tends to go a...

    Carb Counting, a positive story.

Just a quick one really. A year or so ago I started carb counting as my diabetes control was all over the place. Was a massive struggle at the beginning to get my head around it (I did make a few posts on here as I was struggling). Anyway i persevered with it and the struggles I had ( looking on...

Type 1 Diabetes and Carb Counting

This is what confuses me, do you inject before or after meals or does it depend on what your eating. I know some carbs are fast acting and some are not.

Type 1 Diabetes and Carb Counting

Ive been looking at my condition in the total wrong way in the past that's what I've been doing, but it seemed to work albeit not great bg levels. I totally get the concept behind carb counting I'm just struggling to adjust, over think a lot and probably checking my sugars way too much. This...

Type 1 Diabetes and Carb Counting

Good evening, this is not a question as such its just a statement I guess and curious to how others adjusted to carb counting (and experiences) as I don't feel I have anyone to turn to as sad as that sounds. After 19 years of being a diabetic and with no introduction to carb counting, I kind...

    Carb Counting and frozen chips

Good evening, Can anyone recommend the best way to count these from the packaging. Is it carbs at frozen or after cooked. For example it says 22.8 grams carbs per 100 grams frozen. so I weighed 205 grams which gave me a total of 46.74 of carbs. Weighing after cooked there was 138grams. The...

Type 1: Does alcohol effect blood sugars

Good morning I have a quick question as google is giving conflicting answers. I've recently started practicing carb counting so been monitoring my blood sugars closely. Anyway I had a few pints of strong bow last night and I noticed my blood sugars go up. Can alcohol affect blood sugars. Is it...
